45, size 18.

Elder DD (17) says no - too much pattern.

Younger DD (12) says yes - lots of pattern.

Both DS just shrugged...

You are a lovely shape. I really like a pattern/colour clash - unfortunately, for it to look brilliant you have to spend a fortune otherwise it can look a bit half-hearted.
You clearly have some great ideas though - and, as everyone has said, a fabulous shape. Keep experimenting - clothes should be fun.
Either way, you look great.

FIRSTTIMEMUMMA81 · 22/05/2019 23:39

wow, a size 18? Would have said 12.

PhannyMcNee · 23/05/2019 00:05

What do we think of this t shirt from M&S if it’s the right shade of orange? Also available in navy and I’d pick up a white v neck (if they have such a thing) as well.

I'd echo you dont look a size 18 at all. I'm 16 to 18 and have no waist at all. You've piqued my interest - I love the look of wide leg trousers but thought that with my size they wouldn't suit me.

I prefer a losser sleeved t shirt but not the stripes. Orange is good.

Harebel · 23/05/2019 00:44

The first look works really well on you OP you can pull it off!

The dark or plain coloured top with those trousers screams frumpy (and I loathe that word)^^ to me.

You've either got it or you haven't and I think you have Smile

managedmis · 23/05/2019 02:04

Good to see Mark's have finally lenthened the arms on their t-shirts

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 23/05/2019 03:18

The Marks T shirt could work. I like coral so that would be my choice. However the pattern clash is growing on me!

I'd wear low wedges personally, maybe an espadrille or similar.

BusterGonad · 23/05/2019 03:40

I've not read the whole thread, and I know I sound boring but I think slimmer fitting trousers would really flatter you. I think those trousers just add bulk. Blush

neveradullmoment99 · 23/05/2019 09:13

Imo, the balance of what you have on in the first picture shape wise is right. The two patterns clash. Stick to a similar shape on your top half but in a plain tee that pick up one of the colours in the crops.
The vest top is wrong in shape and makes you look bottom heavy. It emphasises your bottom half because its extremely fitted and it is tucked in. I would personally go with a semi-fitted top that stops after your waist/hip bone but not so long it finishes at your thighs. A vest top that's in a woven material that skims rather than clings and is at the length suggested.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/05/2019 09:15

Just had another look at the stripey tee you have on in the first picture and think that you should get a top that doesn't tuck in but rather falls at a good length.

Knewyouwerewaiting · 23/05/2019 09:16

I actually think the balance is wrong in the first pic. There is too much material in the top which goes right up to the neck. A closer fitting v neck would be better.

I agree @Knew - looking back, it should be semi fitted.

birdonawire1 · 23/05/2019 09:27

No. Accentuates all the worst bits. Sorry

birdonawire1 · 23/05/2019 09:28

Trousers would look ok with a plain top

Livpool · 23/05/2019 09:30

Nice with the fitted top x

BlueMerchant · 23/05/2019 09:33

Really lovely trousers. Definitely needs fitted top/vest. Navy/ White/Orange/Red/Jade.

Bluntness100 · 23/05/2019 09:38

Honestly when I opened this up I thought you must be talking about one piece or the other, surely not the whole thing as an actual outfit 🤣

A plain top, in navy or white will work best. The t shirt is a good shape on you, but the colours and stripes don't go with the bottoms.

And I'll also echo what others have said, you look about a size 14 to me.

PlinkPlink · 23/05/2019 09:40

Oh I love the top!! Maybe some plain navy trousers - exactly like those you've got on shape wise.

You've got a lovely figure OP!
