The elusive perfect summer shoe/sandal/mule with a small wedge/heel for someone with neuromas and Achilles tendonitis????.....

Iambuffy · 19/04/2019 21:18

No back, so toe post or mule.
Small heel needed as I can no longer wear flats due to nodules on both Achilles tendons but not too high due to Morton's neuromas.
Sigh.
Black or white leather preferably.
Help me!
Size 5 please......
(Cries a bit)

(I used to wear gabor lanzarote style but they are too flat now....)

I can only wear Hotter extra wide or Crocs- takes the pressure off the neuromas and the soft soles cushion my feet.
Any other brands render me unable to walk.

Iambuffy · 19/04/2019 21:29

Crocs are too flat.
My feet are also very wide, for got to mention that!
Seemingly an impossible ask :(

Some Crocs sandals have heels. But I appreciate they aren't everone's cup of tea.

CaptainBrickbeard · 19/04/2019 21:34

I got stretchy sandals from Pavers last summer that were not beautiful, not stylish but so kind to my neuroma-surgery-recovery feet that I nearly cried with joy whenever I wore them (which was every day!) I recommend the neurectomy surgery; I’ve had both feet done and that terrible pain is a thing of the past. I can wear whatever sandals I want this summer!

Palmaira sandals are great and come in loads of colours and designs.

Not sure why that posted twice, obviously I’m just really enthusiastic about them Confused

Iambuffy · 19/04/2019 21:44

Thank you!
It's ridiculous.
Can't wear heels due to neurons but can't wear flats due to tendonitis!
Argh.
I quite like one of the fit flip ones....I shall continue searching

'Hotter' tourist sandal?

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/04/2019 21:50

www.hotter.com/gb/en/resort-sandals?fit=Standard+Fit&colour=Gold%20Texture

I got this style in a different colour last year. They are very comfortable and their 'standard' fit is pretty wide.

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/04/2019 21:51

Gah! Meant to link to the white ones, not gold.

Iambuffy · 19/04/2019 22:00

Hi bore
I tried those (in white) last year and I had to give them away!
They were really uncomfortable.
I also tried some from marks and clarks. Can't wear either as too uncomfy/too flat.
I ended up the whole summer in cheap Primark ballerinas which have caused the tendonitis :(

OP posts:
BoreOfWhabylon · 19/04/2019 22:02

Oh, what a shame.

What about Birkenstocks? Too flat?

Iambuffy · 19/04/2019 22:04

The ones I've seen are. They seem a bit "utilitarian" to me too :)
It's a nightmare

Iambuffy · 19/04/2019 22:04

...but thank you very much for your help!

Is the Neuroma painful? I have ache between 4th and 5th toe if I put weight on it, and tingling. Not sure what it is. Can you live with neuromas?
I have plantar fasciitis as it is and wear vionic wave sandal which is good. Might be ok for you

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/04/2019 22:06

Mayari are nice and lots of different colours/patterns.

Iambuffy · 19/04/2019 22:08

Mine are.
Mine are between my 3rd and 4th toes. Both dx by ultrasound many years ago
High heels are a definite no no

Oo Vionics look nice!

www.vionicshoes.co.uk/women/wedges/high-tide.html?76=20

I have very very wide feet though.

Iambuffy · 19/04/2019 22:15

Me too :(
Like a hobbit :(

OP posts:
BoreOfWhabylon · 19/04/2019 22:25

Mine are also size 9! AND they swell in the hot weather! (top trumps)

I would love to just be able to go into a shoe shop, see a style I like in a colour I like and be pretty sure that they would fit.

Jakadaal · 19/04/2019 22:27

I've just bought these from QVC - they are by Vionic. They are orthotic - feel as if they will need some wearing in. Loads of different colours.
