Happy belated birthday ella! Cake Sorry I missed yesterday! Your outfits look amazing. The birkies are lovely - and the dress I agree is really like that sunny yellow hush one (but the other way round, if you see what i mean!). Where are the jeans from? They look really good too. I'm sure you'll have an amazing time in Rome.

soy - well done on nearly-getting the job you didn't want! Quite right to celebrate with a lovely kimono.

cherries - hope you found your lost conference call mates Grin . I had a long-running weekly call that seemed to be on one of two numbers, depending on how the organiser was feeling that day...She never told us beforehand, and I (and several others) always got it wrong the first time. She failed to believe us that there were two different numbers circulating and it would probably be a good idea to stick to one... In the end it took a lawyer to make the same point (not a threatening lawyer - just one of the conference call-ees) - and then she went for the same one every week. Was v frustrating...

Well done wardrobe and household declutterers... I desperately need to do this again . I have a total floordrobe going on of overspill. I made a start last week on some "easy" drawers of t-shirts, but I still think you can never have too many t-shirts...(spoiler: Yes. Yes you can). I like whisky's idea of the hangers - but yy I don't have the luxury of one item per hanger... (which is probably why i keep forgetting I have stuff). I like laska's approach of getting more on the same day, though...

I'm not sure about the new stuff to be honest. I like a lot of it - but I'm really not sure anything is crying out to me. Particularly at the prices. I'm liking that there is a bit more cotton/ linen i have to say, and I do like the dresses never and huff have bought/ are considering. Especially the checked Tori one and the Miriam. The tatiana looks really versatile too, and would be good for work i think (though that shape never seems to work on me). I also love the striped print with the marina, alvers dress and the grecian top. It's so happy! But I have a niggling suspicion i would look like a deckchair. And seriously - i have enough summer dresses that I will never wear because we're never going to get the lovely summer we had last year... I think if I do get anything it would need to be "plain" stuff that would go with some of the lovely patterned skirts i have already - so I'm liking the look of the V-neck vest. having said that - I do think the Noosa top with the camels on is gorgeous - but not for £45. And also there would need to be some serious consideration of undergarments with that, as it's so cut away at the shoulders.

@neveradullmoment99 it's just me and DH going to Rome. We haven't had a holiday on our own for 10 years (we went to Egypt for my 30th). We are just going for 3 nights. My lovely Mum and In laws are doing the childcare and doggy care the next few days.

Ellapaella · 25/04/2019 16:35

@NotAnActualSheep blue jeans are Levi's - Tapered leg boyfriend fit.

dontcallmelen · 25/04/2019 16:47

I always forget about new look, must pay a visit very soon I had some brilliant shorts from NL ages ago & they lasted for years.

neveradullmoment99 · 25/04/2019 17:00

@ella, sounds fantastic :) I had a holiday last year with my dh. We went to Norway just the two of us for about 4 days.

SoyYo · 25/04/2019 17:04

Omg I’m exhausted after a marathon 4 hour negotiation training session I’ve just finished with a new team based in Prague...and zoom worked fine but it’s much more challenging training people remotely while you look at your face on the screen...very off putting and glad it’s over (tomorrow it continues from 8am 😫)

@ella I adore everything on you but specially the dress. How can you even be a 10/12? Bellísima and great tip on the Birkies. Agree on NL they always surprise me and last weekend I wore the faded blue denim jacket I bought last summer; it’s still lovely.
Also love the stripy Marina, the Laredo navy blue top, the t shirt dress in the fabulous green leaf print, the bags and some of the jewellery, oh yes and the hooded ombré linen top...(not much then @soy Grin). Will try and resist till discount code is available (and I still haven’t received my Gudrun order)

@never I’m looking forward to seeing your haul 😍

@huff yes the kimono in red from Gudrun is magnificent too (still wondering if I should order despite the ££). Look forward to hearing back on your haul

@cherries and @len I do wonder the same. I’ve been in Procurement (different roles and industries) for 30+ years so when I eventually stop would love to do something completely unrelated...but what I wonder? Hmm

@not thank you! Grin

I’ve got to go back to my little office soon but it’s lovely to read you all, always cheers me up Smile

SoyYo · 25/04/2019 17:15

Ella I can see you in Rome like Emília Clarke in this Dolce &Gabbana ad dancing in your dress and enjoying lovely pasta 🍝 😍

dontcallmelen · 25/04/2019 17:27

Crikey Soy that sounds exhausting, hope you have a nice dinner & relaxing evening planned.

twosoups1972 · 25/04/2019 17:38

Great find ella sometimes New Look really come up trumps if you've got time to browse. How is your ds? Does Rome trip start tomorrow?

twosoups1972 · 25/04/2019 17:45

Thanks for the links ella the dress is lovely, I really like the colour and it looks great with the denim jacket. Can you wear a normal bra under it or do you need strapless?

Soy that does indeed sound exhausting!

Me and dh are off to a course on autism this evening. It's 8 weekly sessions and tonight is the first one. Hoping it will be helpful.

dontcallmelen · 25/04/2019 17:58

Hope it goes well Soup
Well I had my first proper heartsmart gym session today, I’m pleased that I didn’t keel over & I managed to do all the exercise stations, albeit some of them less strenuously than others, will be interesting to see if I can actually move tomorrow.

SoyYo · 25/04/2019 18:14

Thanks @soups and @len I’ve just finally stopped after a gruelling 10 hr day so cooking a veggie curry is next on the agenda, I think a glass of Wine and good music while cooking will help clear my head.

Good luck @soups with the 8 week course! You know the young activist Gretha Tunberg has Aspergers and she’s right when she describes autism as “a gift”. Yes she’s different and it’s that which makes her special and so singled minded and inspiring. I hope you find lots of inspiration with DD over the coming weeks.

@len super pleased to read you were fine with the training 💪 Go You! You’ll end up running marathons next Grin

twosoups1972 · 25/04/2019 18:21

Yes I had heard that about Greta Soy At the moment dd is in complete denial about the diagnosis. Last summer she read the letter the psychologist wrote to her, threw it across the room and claimed it was all lies. We haven't discussed it with her since but at least we have put the idea in her head. She doesn't want to be 'different'. I'm hoping time and maturity will make her realise that it's ok. The course tonight is just for parents so hopefully dh and I will get get lots of useful info on how to support dd.

The veggie curry sounds delicious!

Ellapaella · 25/04/2019 19:13

@twosoups1972 yes it's Rome tomorrow Good luck with your course...hope it all goes well. I find a normal bra is fine with the dress.

Laska2Meryls · 25/04/2019 20:48

Hope you have a great time in Rome Ella . I love the NL dress and jeans.. as well and the Birkies definitely keepers..

My Toast trousers came to day , lovely fabric and colour ,great weight , I'd have loved to keep them but the measurement from waist to crotch was over 12 in! , so to wear them anywhere near my waist would have meant that the crotch was halfway down my thighs.. ( not a great look..) Really, really disappointing.. but I'm def keeping the Keiras now.

Also the Hush leopard 3/4 leggings came, just a nice as the old ones, but are going back, they are def 3/4 on me , and i dont think id wear them much . Besides I found the others so that's ok. Was good though to compare and see that my old ones - although worn and washed at least once weekly since I got them (about September?)- , haven't faded at all..

I have not ordered anything (yet) am holding out for a code.. but if I do to crack it will be for the midnight Laredo as that is something I can wear now..

Never I like the pink tropical sweat , looking forward to seeing that on you ..

dontcallmelen · 25/04/2019 20:58

Ella have a great time🍷🍹🥂🍾

neveradullmoment99 · 25/04/2019 22:33

@laska, Toast have 15% off until Sunday. Shame about the trousers though.

neveradullmoment99 · 25/04/2019 22:35

I have a code if you want it.

Laska2Meryls · 26/04/2019 08:43

Yes trousers were quite odd, weird really as I didn't think they were in the shop, perhaps its just that pair.. Think I'll leave them though now.
so... No sign of a code Hmm... Well that's ok.. I feeling quite strong .....

So a weird new obsession has emerged.. Proper coat hangers , yes I am weird, .but fed up off things falling off my usual random set of shop hangers I bought some non slip ones from Lakeland yesterday . They are life changing !!! yes I really mean that !! No more wardrobe frustration !! (See, totally weird.). I now want more ! The problem is I need eleventy billion and they are expensive. these ones

ilovecherries · 26/04/2019 08:43

ella, have a wonderful time!

Hushistas - Moritz need to go back today if I’m not keeping them. Hot or not?

Laska2Meryls · 26/04/2019 08:49

Keep, keep keep Cherries , I love them ....Biased though I have them,, are you keeping the Keiras?
How are the norks doing?

Laska2Meryls · 26/04/2019 09:04

If anyone wants sandals Clarks have 20% off (all adult shoes) I like these in yellow and the pink but have bought these in black (more sensible, but what I need ).. clear out has made me realise that I could pull a few things together with a pair of black sandals .

My fugly Ecco walking shoes order was cancelled! but found another pair - and nicer colour- on Amazon, for same price..

SoyYo · 26/04/2019 09:05

@laska for hangers I recommend using the velvet type as they’re slim (you can fit more) and non slip. Look in Amazon much cheaper than Lakeland!

Laska2Meryls · 26/04/2019 09:06
