What one piece of clothing would you like to buy and haven't (yet!)

I always seem to have full online baskets, but I never quite dare to press the order button, mainly because most of the clothes in them are slightly ridiculous (for example, I'd love to have every colour of Lucy and Yak dungarees)!

Just for fun, what have you got your eyes on?

I'm still debating over a Hill & Friends camera bag. I bought one but when it arrived it was a different colour and style so I got a refund and decided not to reorder as I think it's just going to be too small.

I haven't seen any other cross body bags that I like.

I also am trying to give up leather as I'm a vegetarian.

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 07/04/2019 12:00

Oo they are such sweet bags - I love them! And I love the smile-face branding... though I think that's my problem with Lucy & Yak - I worry that I like the brand more than the product.

It's amazing that you're trying to give up leather. Good luck - it's a very noble objective!

There’s so many things I want at any one time that it’s very difficult to just pick the one.

Expensive purchases I want but won’t get until I actually manage to save for them, which doesn’t ever happen because of aforementioned very long wish list (In the past things like this have gone on my credit card but I am weaning myself off that):

Mulberry bag and scarf
YSL pouch bag
LV evening bag

Always have at least two or three coats or jackets I want:

Blush pink wool coat
Navy wool pea coat
Blazer for summer evenings (either dusky rose pink or olive/gold)
Blazer (black and pink plaid)

For summer I don’t need much as I have bought quite a bit in the sale, but I still want a pair of flats that will work for casual as well as slightly more dressed up, plus some tan mules.

Also need a pair of jeans with a distressed hem, 7/8 length or similar, in a suitably light colour for summer.

Would like a watch with a lighter face (the day to day one I have at the moment is lovely but it’s dark grey and I’d like a nude or blush pink one for the summer). Rose gold metal work. Rose gold bangle and necklace to match.

I need a straw hat in an elegant bucket style or at least with a rounded top (I have two trilbies but I’d like one that looks slightly more soft).

But if I could go out today and get anything at all, without worrying about cost, it’d probably be this tote, because I could use one, I love the colour, and I’ve admired the bag from afar for quite a while:

A red leather biker jacket
A long beige loose/lacy crochet boho style cardigan

Ninkaninus · 07/04/2019 15:37

Oh I saw the most delicious red leather jacket recently, the perfect shade of red!

That reminds me,

I also need a red crossbody handbag.

Deep red leather jacket.

Burgundy leather jacket.

Nude/beige/taupe suede jacket.

Freshprincess · 07/04/2019 15:39

A proper sticky out tulle skirt. Would never have the occasion to wear it and I’m not cool enough to pull it off without looking like an overgrown 6 year old.

Would also love an all saints biker and a leather pencil skirt, but my veggie principles stop me.

Rua13 · 07/04/2019 15:45

I want a Max Mara camel coat.I need to start saving :))

HaventGotAllDay · 07/04/2019 15:48

EvilHarpy- I had a red leather biker jacket and my mum sold it for £4!
I am going to get a Coach turnlock Edie when they have a sale.
I also want those Jigsaw trousers that Kate Middleton wore so are obviously going for £300 on eBay (wtf?)

Ninkaninus · 07/04/2019 15:49

Oh god, see this is what it’s like every day for me!

Tan to brown suede skirt (on the longer side)

Burgundy leather A line mini skirt.

thenorthernluce · 07/04/2019 15:53

A perfect, classic leather biker jacket - in a size that I can stay at for life (ideally 12, realistically 14)!

Ninkaninus · 07/04/2019 15:55

Heh sane for me - I’ve got at least two that I probably won’t fit into again, plus another two that I need to sell because they’re not really the right colouring for my skin tone. I need replacements! Grin

evilharpy · 07/04/2019 17:46

Haventgotallday I assume you have now gone NC with your mum? I think I would. Grin

Rua14 I would love a MaxMara camel coat. I have a MM navy jersey blazer, a black and white boucle jacket and a brown wool jacket. They are just so well made and well cut. The blazer in particular gets comments every time I wear it. I keep hoping a camel coat will appear in the charity shop!

EngagedAgain · 07/04/2019 18:01

I don't want to derail the thread but I would like to give up leather, but find non leather shoes are only ok for wearing short periods of time, because feet can't breathe. And then I think if I wear leather shoes I may as well have a leather bag. I only have one leather bag though, and no plans to get another. Canvas shoes breathe, but not much good in the winter.

DameDoom · 07/04/2019 18:23

Still searching for the perfect midi leather skirt. I must have ordered into the dozens but so far, there is always something a bit off. I will battle on with my quest though.

EngagedAgain · 07/04/2019 18:57

I am still searching for the perfect pair of day shoes, that do for everything and are not frumpy. I did have a pair, (in fact I have still got them, but too frumpy now), that I could wear any occasion, all year round and are waterproof and comfortable. It's too much of a tall order, so now I have to alternate between a few pairs.

Ninkaninus · 07/04/2019 19:40

If you’re looking to reduce your leather usage for ethical reasons then personally I think that buying pre-loved is a good way to do that. The item has already been bought, there is no profit to the original supplier or company, which means it won’t directly drive further consumption. You can buy good leather shoes pre-owned that have never been used and will last you years if they are good quality, which means you also won’t be consuming more of other types of products that aren’t really suitable or don’t last as long.

adulthumanwolf · 07/04/2019 19:47

I've just treated myself to something I've been looking at for ages! I've bought the Free People celestial skies dress in the mustard colour.

www.freepeople.com/uk/shop/celestial-skies-midi-dress/?color=027&quantity=1&type=REGULAR

DP would think I was insane if he knew how much it cost but I'm so happy!

Ninkaninus · 07/04/2019 19:49

Ohhh that’s a lovely dress with just the kind of boho vibe that I want for summer, in just the length I’m looking for...

adulthumanwolf · 07/04/2019 20:01

Their sizing is pretty mad though, these dresses are really oversized. I'm a 12 and bought an S, but really I should have got the XS. The dress is really floaty with tons of fabric. So if you're a 12 or under definitely go for the XS! It would easily fit a 16!

Ofthread · 07/04/2019 20:08

I also want a tulle skirt. Ideally silk tulle. I want a zip up 'fashion' tracksuit top without a hood, surprisingly difficult to find.

EngagedAgain · 07/04/2019 22:33

Ninkaninus, good idea, I do buy various things from charity shops, but not usually shoes, so perhaps now is the time to start!

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 07/04/2019 23:21

I like kooky handmade shoes

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 08/04/2019 08:37

@Ninkaninus I have to agree that I'd also love some different coats - and some beautifully tailored wool pea coats are such a classic. However, we've got such little storage room in our little house, that I'd really struggle to find somewhere to put them. That JL tote is nice, but the price (yikes!).

@adulthumanwolf - that dress is the stuff of dreams! The only pain of L&Y dungarees I bought was the mustard yellow ones (I thought I should go bold, or go home!)- I'm loving the colour at the moment!

@PaulHollywoods - oo what like? I must admit, I've never given handmade shoes a thought...

@engagedagain - I bought some really cute pink brogues from Clarkes last year, and I love them - comfy, stylish, go with jeans and dresses, and I can wear socks with them (well, some people might disagree that the socks look good, but I think they look okay, and I like my socks! Grin )
