What one piece of clothing would you like to buy and haven't (yet!)

I always seem to have full online baskets, but I never quite dare to press the order button, mainly because most of the clothes in them are slightly ridiculous (for example, I'd love to have every colour of Lucy and Yak dungarees)!

Just for fun, what have you got your eyes on?

I really want a jumpsuit, but haven't found one that both fits and is aesthetically pleasing! I'm only 5 foot tall and a size 6.

EngagedAgain · 08/04/2019 15:05

Thanks myfamily I will check out Clark's. I have actually got a pair of pink canvas shoes and pink goes incredibly well with most colours.

I want so many things! Making a list for summer. Need to cut this down, e.g. I don't think I'll buy both red loafers and white flats but haven't decided which yet (and if I see one in the sale that will change again). Also I need to lose about half a stone after putting on weight recently so not buying jeans etc until back to normal weight.

Khaki chinos
Wide legged cropped blue jeans
Red loafers
Buffet dress (got a good winter one, now need a summer one)
Nude or white flats for work
Nice textured wool boyfriend cardigan in navy or grey (not really for summer but need to properly look next autumn so I finally get one)
Need more t-shirts as well
Round straw bag

I would like a really nice well cut jumpsuit in Navy or Black for wearing out in the evening.
I've been meaning to invest in a really nice one for ages but not seen one I really like in the right size.

Would also like an oxblood collarless biker jacket but that can wait until autumn now.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/04/2019 20:34

I'd like a leather skirt but haven't yet found one that I love enough to splash so much cash on.

I'd also like a Bella Freud 'Jane' jumper, but there's no way I'd ever spend that much.

@EngagedAgain - if you’re looking for non-leather but good quality shoes then check out Wills. I have several pairs (different boots and brogues for work) and they are awesome and breathable. And last for years.

Plus there’s loads of great non leather bags! LaBante, Angela Roi, JW Pei, Wilby.....

Sorry OP to derail the thread.

On my list is this bag: www.naturisimo.com/products.cfm?id=8975&
And this one: www.naturisimo.com/products.cfm?id=4679&
This jumpsuit: www.whistles.com/women/clothing/jumpsuits/sana-linen-button-jumpsuit-29567.html

And I’m on the lookout for some new swimwear.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/04/2019 21:29

I would like a long trench coat, and also a dark green mini-ish leather skirt.

remus if you find The Skirt, snap it up! My Jigsaw leather skirt was an expensive buy that I dithered about for ages, but in reality I have worn it so much it practically pays me. Similarly, I have several BF jumpers, bought in sales but still £££ - I absolutely love them and wear them often. I very rarely regret things I pay a lot for, because I am really, really considered about it. (I tend to regret Topshop jumpers snatched up in my lunch break, and the like.)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/04/2019 21:47

I don't want to derail the thread but I would like to give up leather, but find non leather shoes are only ok for wearing short periods of time

M&S do some vegan shoes (I've been strolling about in some lace-up boots and some Chelsea boots for the last few winters )

In Summer, I have 3 pairs of Clarkes toe post sandles , slight wedge and cushioned sole ( textile)

Converse lace-ups

Kipling handbags (though some of the premier ones have leather straps so I always double check)

It is easier to find non-leather now .

EngagedAgain · 08/04/2019 21:49

Swiftier, thanks that sounds just the sort of non leather I want. Shall definitely be checking them out.

Judy, for years I've hankered after a trench coat. Saw a lovely, light weight, slightly shimmery mid blue one about 20 years ago abroad in C&A. Should have got it ☹️ still, it would probably be worn out by now, or outdated.

EngagedAgain · 08/04/2019 22:00

70's is a limit (sorry all I've not learnt how to do the bold or cut and paste) thank you for the shoe tips. I do like the Kipling bags. They really are my style. Was looking at them on eBay last year.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/04/2019 22:14

engaged I suspect that unless I invest big money, which I don’t want to, it’s not a practical buy. Unlikely to be waterproof, not warm, I live in Scotland where it’s mainly wet and cold, and not something I would throw on with a summer frock because my denim jacket does that for me. (The one I have my eye on is in Topshop.)

EngagedAgain · 09/04/2019 07:13

Judy, yes I agree. I can't bring myself to spend a lot on something I know I won't wear much. Also with the weather - I'm down south, but still find it's either cold or wet enough to be wrapped up, or hot. There's not much of an in between it seems.
