And how do you usually buy them? Save up, watch out for sales or offers, bonus time/a gift with purchase, outright splurge?

What are your favourite dupes or budget versions of the products?

Sisley Black Rose cream mask. It’s amazing and makes my skin look young and fresh almost straight away. I only buy it probably once a year as you only need a little as and when so quite cost effective really.

My good budget item would be the ‘say YES to’ grapefruit range, works really well, pertically the pore perfector and most of the peices are under a tenner

Girlinstripedpyjamas · 17/03/2019 21:10

I do like Liz Earle c and p. I’m without currently but want some. Oh and Elemis sharp shower before I started to use bar soap

Glittertrauma · 17/03/2019 21:44

Anything from Charlotte Tilbury. Spendy but beautiful quality. I just splurge if I can afford it one month. Or buy from eBay if the seller is reputable and I can be fairly sure its genuine. Worth the spend, in my opinion. Cheaper dupe? Check out Beauty Pie. The skincare is amazing quality. But you do have to join as a member and pay a monthly fee to access the low prices. For me, that's worth it as I get almost all my skincare and quite a bit of makeup there. It's all made in the same factories as designer brands (apparently) but from my personal experience it is great quality.

hopeishere · 17/03/2019 21:47

I've recently bought a By Terry CC cream. I'm really happy with it. It was £61 Shock which I didn't realise when I bought it (got confused in the shop!!) but I can afford it do it was ok.

RuggyPeg · 17/03/2019 21:56

Oh god, too much! Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter. Dermalogica microfolliant. Clarins shower tonic. Clinique aromatics shower gel. Kerastase hair. Olaplex. Julia Hunter skin peel. Tom ford & Serge Luten perfumes.

GoldenHour · 17/03/2019 22:07

@Girlinstripedpyjamas Boots had a very good Liz Earle set last week for £32, might be worth looking if they still have.

sherbetstraws · 17/03/2019 22:10

L'Occitane shampoo and conditioner. It's never cheap though.

SwingoutSisterSledge · 17/03/2019 22:10

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

PersonaNonGarter · 17/03/2019 22:14

Christophe Robine Prickly Pear Hair Mask (£56 Space NK) - just amazing for turning straw into soft hair.

Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Bath. (£40ish) - guaranteed good night sleep

Winenotttea · 17/03/2019 22:20

Elemis muscle ease bath soak and Elemis moisturising shower creme.

Tacobellend · 17/03/2019 22:28

Elemis tsv on qvc
Charlotte tilbury makeup
Best find lately is vita liberata body blur brilliant in summer for legs .

babyno5 · 17/03/2019 22:31

More thrift than splurge but I'd highly recommend the day and night caviar from Aldi. £6.99 a jar and it's amazing!!! I actually prefer it to Elemis Marine pro collagen!! x

Thedarklady · 17/03/2019 22:34

Christophe Robin Prickly Pear Hair Mask (£56 Space NK) - just amazing for turning straw into soft hair. That sounds great @PersonaNonGarter (great username too)

High praise indeed for the Aldi cream @babyno5

Always use Estée Lauder double wear foundation. Switched to the primark dupe for a fiver. It’s even better than the doublewear.

Loubyloulou88 · 18/03/2019 02:44

Elemis Rose Cleansing Balm! Expensive but so luxe!

similarminimer · 18/03/2019 08:31

I'm totally pissed off with beauty pie. They claim to be a luxury brand but in my experience their customer service is far from it. They also didn't put up a bad but honest review of one of their products that I posted - have lost faith in them totally and decided against renewing my membership.

I really like the cult beauty site - they are great at recommendations at a range of prices. They suggested Votary moisturiser to me recently and I love it.

Antonia Burrell is my absolute favourite though. Brilliant products - available online

Bubba1234 · 18/03/2019 08:39

Aveda shampoo and conditioner
Armani foundation and primer
I see that asos had 20 percent off this weekend no money in the bank since I went on an impulse spree in primark on my day offConfused
I got a too faced bronzer I had my eye on for months I ended up getting 5 pounds offso I was delighted about that.
I find it harder to part with my money when it comes to makeup.
I always get aveda.
I will always have Armani makeup.
Everything else I can buy cheaper which I mostly do.
There are serious savings to be made on the makeup when asos have there 20 percent off.
They do mac nars too faced and lots of other brands

Milomonster · 18/03/2019 11:18

Sisley Black Rose cream - buy at duty free to save 20%.
YSL Touche Eclat and matching foundation.
Hourglass or YSL mascara.

I terms of cheapo stuff, Nip and Fab glycolic pads and Dragons Blood serum.

xodarl · 18/03/2019 11:28

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Filter powder. I love it but it is expensive and does not last long but it makes my entire face of makeup look better.

Dior Nail Glow I love as it is so effortless yet makes me feel more polished. I have a whole rainbow of Essie polishes that I have not used (except on my toes) as I just love the way the Nail Glow looks.

Dior Lip Glow I just love as I just don't like lip colours on me, but it just gives a boost to my natural lip colour.

MadameDD · 18/03/2019 11:36

MAC lipsticks.

I used to spend more on Redken Shampoo/conditioner etc and would sometimes buy huge bottles on offer on sites or in local small independent hair salons.

for other luxurious products - TK Maxx often has luxurious brands, even NARS.

If you sign up to Aveda club card or whatever you get a free gift - like an oil or you choose.

I recently bought a Becca highlighter and am a bit disappointed in it as I know I could get the same elsewhere!

I did used to like a Clarins Orange cleanser/toner but not enough to buy it regularly.

sherbetstraws · 18/03/2019 16:03

Love this discussion!

le42 · 18/03/2019 16:33

I love the Rituals skincare products, also like Charlotte Tilbury makeup.

My bargain that I can’t live without is Astral cream, I’ve had many expensive moisturers over the years including a £70 clarins one and astral is just the best and it’s like £3 a pot! Lather on every night to give perfect skin.

sherbetstraws · 18/03/2019 16:43

Where do you buy Dior lip and nail glow?

NicoAndTheNiners · 18/03/2019 16:50

L'occitane shower oil.
Pixi glow

NicoAndTheNiners · 18/03/2019 16:51

And Ouai hairspray which is horribly expensive for hairspray but so worth it.
