Outfit for me to wear to my baby’s christening

I am a 35 yr old, tall-ish, size 14, (sometimes a 12 or a 16), Apple shape.

I’m feeling rather clueless and don’t know what to look for...

Christening is in May and I’m planning to tone up a little bit before then, but I imagine I’d still be a size 14.

I think I suit warm tones.

I also like the more eco friendly fashion labels, where possible, (ie not fast fashion).

Budget is anything up to £200 for an outfit without accessories.

Legs and boobs are probably my best features. Tummy and upper arms are probably my least favourite.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated Smile!

This dress from Thought is nice and is the sort of thing you could wear again.

Oh thanks so much both! I actually thought this thread had died a death, so I’m pleasantly surprised to see responses this morning!

I love that Thooght one. I can’t tell if it might add a bit of volume though. Definitely worth a go. Lovely colours too - both dresses - which I think would suit me. Thanks Flowers.

I also like this crossfront dress from Nomad, although you might need a jacket with it (and it needs a good iron and I never iron anything Grin).

FuckertyBoo · 09/03/2019 08:10

Thanks its!

Yes, I think I’d look like an unmade bed in that one, as I too never iron!

Mine is the green colour

I like the green dress, it's a lovely shade.

Personally, I dont think it looks like an occasion dress, it's very casual.

But perhaps with the right jewellery, shoes etc it might look more dressed up.

FuckertyBoo · 09/03/2019 10:38

Hmmmm I think you might be right palamino. I actually bought it as a more every day dress to wear on holiday - just being lazy trying to make it work!

Although if I had great legs I'd go all duchess of S snd wear a dress from Reiss www.reiss.com/p/pin-tuck-detailed-dress-womens-delfina-in-navy-blue/?category_id=218&gaEeList=W%20-%20New%20Arrivals

FuckertyBoo · 09/03/2019 13:02

Oh, I really like the Reiss one, although I think the neck might be too high for me - I tend to suit v necks.

I do like the Jigsaw one too, but wonder if it might just draw attention to my tum...

Love the Boden one. Not sure about length, but it’s a lovely shape on top.

What do you normally wear for church? We were at a christening last month and everyone seemed to be wearing the same clothes as I’ve seen them in before at church.

FuckertyBoo · 09/03/2019 17:17

I normally wear jeans to church... We only go to the family service, so it’s definitely not dressy.

We’re having the christening immediately after family service and it’s not part of the normal service iyswim. So it will be just us with our guests and the priest.

We’ve booked a quite nice venue for the reception though and we’ll hopefully be seeing old friends and family etc, so would like to make a bit more effort. If only for the photosGrin.
