What do you wear on your feet apart from boots?

Ok so I feel smart in boots in the winter when I go out for the day and there's a lot of walking. But what do you wear for a day out in the spring/summer ? Maybe with jeans. I want to look smart and avoid blisters at the same time! My days of wearing heels are over Smile

I wear toms. All the time. I think they're smarter than trainers. I wear loafer type shoes at work.

yorkshirepud44 · 06/03/2019 19:04

I'm a trainers convert. I live in jersey blazers, scarves, jeans and smart trainers these days. I love being able to walk miles in absolute comfort, they're a godsend on a city break.

Lucylugs · 06/03/2019 19:10

Brogues are smart, comfy and no heel.

chillychicken · 06/03/2019 19:15

@yorkshirepud44 what trainers do you have?

I wear boots or superga’s OP. I have loafers for work.

tattooq · 06/03/2019 19:17

I pretty much wear exclusively trainers now, I've had arthritic toe joints since my teens and trainers mean I can walk for hours without pain. I have more pairs than I could count Blush

BillyAndTheSillies · 06/03/2019 19:23

I live in superga's generally if I'm not in boots. But I've got a pair of flatform oxblood brogues which are amazing and super comfortable so have been wearing those a lot! My first ever "adult" Clark's shoes and I'm converted.

GVmama · 06/03/2019 19:24

For some reason I can't wear flat brogues or ballet flats, anything with a stiff back gives me such awful blisters. Court shoes the same. I think my feet are narrow so they slip off a bit.
If I'm not wearing boots or heels, I wear trainers with low ankle socks. Currently alternating between Adidas superstar, Superga and some navy Hummel pumps. I prefer wearing slip on trainers or sandals if it's warm.

Backseatonthebus · 06/03/2019 19:26

Supergas are so comfortable, it's them or Clarks brogues for me.

MerlotMayhem · 06/03/2019 21:16

I don't know how to wear trainers or brogues without them looking clompy with skinny jeans. That's why I like the boots as they give a clean line - which in my head makes me look slimmer. I always end up getting changed 100 times when I try other casual shoes as on me it looks clumsy and wrong

There are so many different styles and colours of trainers these days it's brilliant. I love trainers. I wear smart trainers all the time outside work as I've plantar fasciitis and can't wear hard soles. I've collected over the last few years a pair of Nike airmax, 95s (winter) Adidas superstars and Vejas (summer) in a variety of colours, suede and leather. I wear all of them with skinny, chinos or wide leg jeans and keep them clean so they last me and always look good.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/03/2019 22:06

I wear trainers - I have Stan Smiths in black, and white, Gazelles, Nikes in gold,, and leopard print, and Continental 80s in grey. I also have snakeskin flatform brogues.

(I don’t tend to wear skinny jeans, though.)

FetchezLaVache · 06/03/2019 22:10

Do Supergas last well? I wear boots for six months of the year and Rocket Dogs for the other six, but I walk a lot so they're through at the sole and have to go in the bin by early autumn - I just feel it's not a very sustainable way to buy shoes.

Barrenfieldoffucks · 06/03/2019 22:12

Boots
Superga
Adidas superstars
Havainas
Saltwaters

Barrenfieldoffucks · 06/03/2019 22:13

I've branched out though, I used to just wear boots until flip flop season 😂, maybe with a pair of deck shoes in between.

mathanxiety · 07/03/2019 06:23

Sperry deck shoes. I have a pair in lilac fabric and a leather pair in gold, and a pair of Frye deckshoes in navy. Also a pair of loafers in navy. I fold up the cuff of my jeans and imagine I look quite French from about mid calf down.

Also flip flops, and espadrilles.

You need enbrogue.com

Flat shoe extraordinaire!

Whatisthislifeiffullofcare · 07/03/2019 08:28

I wear fine guilt loafers, converse or other trainer type shoe but mostly sandals as soon as the weather is good enough - I have a lot of sandals all flat . All flat and all fairly comfortable

shedougahole · 07/03/2019 08:31

I practically only wear converse, I wear the high top ones in the winter and in the summer I will wear the normal ones. I think the white converse look great paired with anything and are definitely my go to when it gets a bit warmer.

Noneyerbuisness1234 · 07/03/2019 08:34

I wear nice open flat sandals with skinny jeans in the summer the dressy flat ones that you would wear on holiday and with maxi dresses or leggings with anything basically lol

Bubba1234 · 07/03/2019 08:38

Docs to work on weekends it’s the new fila disrupters so comfy never owned a pair of trainers like them

Bubba1234 · 07/03/2019 08:39

In the summer I’m getting 2 pairs of high wedges to go with casual day dresses

RestingBitchFaced · 07/03/2019 09:51

These! I love them, so comfy and don't look scruffy like I do in trainers

What do you wear on your feet apart from boots?
sleepraptor · 07/03/2019 12:51

What socks do you wear with superga etc when you can see your ankle? I love the look of no socks and trainers but my feet can't do no socks!

LadyPeach · 07/03/2019 12:54

Leather espadrilles?

BlueMerchant · 07/03/2019 13:01

Pointy flat shoes look smart but casual. I go cheap and get a few different colours from places like new look. They are comfy and go with most outfits.
