Why do so many mners recommend using soap instead of shower gel?
My DH prefers soap but I find it "squeaky"
We are in a v hard water area if that matters.
Please explain

More commercial soap I find too drying

Soap needs to age, the more commercial (cheaper) brands don't age their soap so that is probably why they are more drying. But if you have a soap habit Blush then you probably will end up aging them at home yourself.

I switched back to soap after many years of using shower gel. It was just before the thread on here made its appearance. Like others have said it cuts the use of single plastic bottles. But most importantly you feel fresher for longer so are properly clean.

I dislike the tacky, not actually clean feeling of shower gel. I only apply soap to the parts that need thorough cleaning, never arms or legs. A new bar of good quality soap is one of life’s little joys.

I bought some handmade soap in a local artisan market, mainly to use less plastic. Gorgeous stuff, not only on my skin but the bathroom smells heavenly
