Expensive healthy glow

Vividdreaming · 23/02/2019 16:24

I’m sure this has been touched on in the ‘How to look expensive threads’ but I thought it would be interesting.

If you know people have that healthy glow or if you have it yourself. How do you get it?

Is it a money thing or is it a mentality of looking after yourself?

I think I’m doomed on this as however much glow I get seems to be cancelled out by the fact I have so many freckles so I never look polished, I wish every day that I never went in the sun as a child.

RuggyPeg · 25/02/2019 21:43

If it helps, my skin has fallen off a cliff since I turned 46 😢 Glow and firmness are a thing of the past. Think I'm going to have to ditch the sugar next 😢😢😢😢😢

Babygrey7 · 25/02/2019 22:12

Ruggy, don't despair, it is the worst time of year!

The winter light is cold and harsh
Our skin is dehydrated from central heating
We lack vitamin D
Not enough fresh seasonal food around
Comfort eating stodge

I always look worst in Jan and Feb!

Crunched · 25/02/2019 22:54

RuggyPeg Smile very boring celebs, Will Young and Russel Howard, but they sure did glow.
(And your skin looks great)

OrigamiZoo · 25/02/2019 23:33

Hyaluronic acid plumps up your skin and I'm sure I read on here you can get it injected now.

Dr - freckles are gorgeous though!

I’ve really only started looking after my skin properly in the last 6 months or so. I just didn’t have the disposable income to do it before and was literally washing my face with baking sofa and water Confused

I’ve attached a photo of one product I’m loving. I’ve seen real results with this serum even after the first application and can’t wait to try some of the other products in the range. Even my DP, the least observant person in the world, noticed my skin was better after a few days.

AhoyDelBoy · 26/02/2019 09:51

Just to add I’m using this as an alternative to retinol products as I’m breastfeeding.

AhoyDelBoy · 26/02/2019 09:52

Baking soda Grin

Quintella · 26/02/2019 11:41

Wh...wh.....whyyyyy were you washing your face with bicarb?! Grin

AhoyDelBoy · 26/02/2019 12:00

Yeh not exactly ideal, I remember googling it, it is actually a ‘thing’ some people do and I wanted something that was exfoliating Grin never again though. It seemed better than buying a very cheap cleanser at the time that would completely strip my skin as I didn’t have any moisturiser either (we were totally broke).

So seems I’ve upped my skincare game significantly since then.

I’m using the product I showed above which is amazing! The skinceuticals vitamin C serum. Alpha H liquid gold as well as a cleanser and moisturiser from the same range (wouldn’t repurchase the cleanser and moisturiser though). I’ve just got some Korean toners, sunscreen and an overnight mask as well which are all great.

So my skin has definitely improved but still has a long way to go. I’m thinking about some kind of treatments but don’t know where to start Confused

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 26/02/2019 12:41

Thanks for this Ahoy! I'm going to treat myself on pay day to a mini Ole Henriksen set from Boots.

AhoyDelBoy · 26/02/2019 20:28

@TheHodgeoftheHedge
Yay! Please report back on the products you get and if you like them. I could not love the glow serum anymore than I do. I’d ummed and ahhed over it for awhile because it’s not cheap but so glad I purchased it!

NeedSomeTimeInTheSunshiiine · 26/02/2019 22:58

I'm going to throw my hat in the ring here and add Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter, and IT Cosmetics CC cream. They really do produce a glow.

RuggyPeg · 27/02/2019 10:13

Flawless filter is, I agree, amazing.

KaliforniaDreamz · 28/02/2019 13:40

A week skiing helps.

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 05/03/2019 17:03

My mini Ole Henriksen set has arrived! I'll let you know how I get on.

bought this and adding it to my tinted moisturiser seems to make me look very dewey, or like i am in a science fiction show, i haven't quite decided.
