Bit like this

Obviously age, or lack of it, helps but products? Which ones? Why don't I look like that?

oooh may I recommend for the umpteeth time Boujois powder blush in Rouge Brun (or summat)

about a fiver

makes you look like you have had sleep when you have not

binkleandflip · 04/07/2007 16:03

I love Bourjois and speaking of it - 10 hour sleep foundation also excellent

collision · 04/07/2007 16:07

Yeah but I suffer from mild rosacea and if i had a sheen look I would just look hot red and sweaty!

what to do, what to do.....

I favour the matt look I think.

binkleandflip · 04/07/2007 16:08

mineral make-up is excellent for disguising rosacea, along with green corrective base of course.

sleep

collision · 04/07/2007 16:11

I use the green stuff but what is mineral makeup.

What is the stuff you recommend Mrs B and why does it work?

soapbox · 04/07/2007 16:11

It is such a fine line between dewy and chip pan face, that mere mortals (i.e. those without a personal make up artist following them around all day) adopt it at their peril!

I have used benefits high beam myself, and it looked okay in evening light but the photographs have a rather ghostly look about them!

binkleandflip · 04/07/2007 16:14

mineral make-up such as id minerals or Loreal do a reasonably priced one for £6.99 I think that is pretty good and worth trying to see if it suits you.

Very lightweight and covers everything and gives the skin a really soft silky look - it is a foundation powder that you blend into your skin with a brush - takes a bit of practice but it gives really good, longlasting coverage and would sort the rosacea out no probs.

MrsBadger · 04/07/2007 16:19

Mineral makeup is weird - tis not like normal powder but I am not sure why.
Something to do with it only being ground-up rocks, with no oil or starch or filler in so it doesn't mix with the oils on your skin to produce goo that sits in your pores / wrinkles.

The one I suggested is the anti-redness version of it - I've ordered a tester of the anti-eyebag one and we shall see how it goes.

collision · 04/07/2007 16:20

oooh am intrigued.

binkleandflip · 04/07/2007 16:20

Just use sparingly MrsB and blend well and you'll be chuffed with it I'm sure (am big mineral convert for all the reasons you stated)

UnquietDad · 04/07/2007 16:21

Botox.

MrsBadger · 04/07/2007 16:23

am already impressed with LilyLolo for offering testers without having to approach gurning ornage women in white coats - wish other places did the same...

thirtysomething · 04/07/2007 16:27

A brilliant photographer.

And the ones sporting such a 'look' are all about 20-years-old.
