Anyone take a supplement to help their hair, nails and skin?

If so, what do you take?

I eat pretty healthily and drink plenty of water, but my skin always seems to look knackered. I am knackered, but wondered if it's worth trying to give it a helping hand.

I used to take the Boots own brand one. I was taking it to help with my skin but the main difference for me was my hair grew quicker!

HarrySnotter · 06/02/2019 20:18

Well I'm desperate to grow my hair too so that's a big plus. What was it called please?

B12 for energy. But Don't for nails and skin.

Goodynuf · 06/02/2019 20:19

CremeDeSudo · 06/02/2019 20:21

Interested to hear what other people say!

I'm currently taking hair burst for my hair - but could do with some other help too

CremeDeSudo · 06/02/2019 20:21

Cross post 😁

HarrySnotter · 06/02/2019 20:24

Ha ha thank you!

I read a review that said they can cause weight gain because they contain biotin, has anyone heard that?

Biotin gave me terrible spots!

Bananajam · 08/02/2019 19:14

I've been trialling the seven seas perfect 7 renewal, I've got two months worth of tablets free. I've taken them for a month so far and can't see any difference. Maybe it needs a couple of months to really make you look younger and fresher but I wouldn't pay the £20+ myself. I usually take whatever cheap multivitamins are on offer!

FurryDogMother · 08/02/2019 19:17

I started taking Biotin when I thought I was losing hair - a couple of years ago now. My nails are now great, no hair loss, and skin is OK too. I've recently lost 3 stone, so not convinced about weight gain! I get mine from Amazon.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 08/02/2019 19:24

I use the Sainsburys own brand hair, skin and nails tabs. £3 a box.

My hair feels so much better already. Its been about 2 months.

Just eat really well... please. Set a good model for your children, and you will all be healthier. Five or more portions of fruit/veg daily, non-refined carbs, quality proteins, oily fish twice a week (preferably more), sensible portions and none of you will be overweight, you will have great skin, nails and hair apart from hormonal issues/changes. T'ain't rocket science; it's just how humans are supposed to eat.

RuggyPeg · 09/02/2019 09:06

Ionicell from Victoria Health, which is a treasure trove of wonderful stuff!

Cookmysock1 · 09/02/2019 18:21

I use Biotin, it's fab, no problems with it, even my pubes are now luxuriant Grin

flowerycurtain · 09/02/2019 18:52

What Biotin do you all get please?

Cookmysock1 · 09/02/2019 19:40

I got mine from Holland and Barrett

DharmaInitiativeLady · 09/02/2019 19:49

Viviscal has done absolute wonders for me. Pricey though and there are fakes out there on eBay that won't work. I have it on subscription from Amazon

Meanwhile, back in the real world...

XingMing · 09/02/2019 20:21

So Corrag, you aren't ready or able to do right by the children you YOU have chosen to bring into the world. What kind of irresponsible parenting is that?!

Wow! That escalated quickly. FYI I don't have any children.
