I would like a pair of good, inexpensive black jeans - where to go!

Slim, skinny, possibly even straight or jeggings, but proper black. I am slowly building my wardrobe back up after two children then zero spare cash. My clothes are oldand ill-fitting apart from a couple of quality basic pieces that I have recently got.

Ideally I don't want to spend more than £30 but if anyone has any tips for really good ones I will gladly have them.fpr when I can afford something more. I just have no idea where to go on the high street for clothes anymore. Thank you!

NicoleNoPants · 24/01/2019 11:39

I got a nice pair from Matalan. Really kept there colour.

Thishatisnotmine · 24/01/2019 11:39

I think I had a pair of River Island jeans years ago, will definitely look there then.

Primark are good for cheap jeans.

StealthPolarBear · 24/01/2019 11:41

I have some from tesco which fit well and were 15

Myfanwyprice · 24/01/2019 11:42

Asda wonderfit jeans, really seem to keep their shape and colour.

NuzzleandScratch · 24/01/2019 11:43

I recently got some nice ones in M&S, they're the mid rise super skinny, £22.50. I have quite big calves, and I don't find these squeeze my legs like others can do. I also got them in navy, very comfortable.

Thishatisnotmine · 24/01/2019 11:59

Oooh, thanks everyone. I have all those shops near me so will have a look.

Topshop Joni - high waisted skinny jeans. If you use code LUCKY 20 you'll get 20% off so they'd be £28.80 instead of £36

Ivegotthree · 24/01/2019 12:11

Uniqlo or Gap

Havana7 · 24/01/2019 12:12

Riverisland Molly but for a cheaper version Matalan

KnockMeDown · 24/01/2019 12:12

Tu at Sainsbury's! My go to for jeans.

DarlingNikita · 24/01/2019 12:13

Uniqlo Ultra Stretch skinnies. More like £35 I think, but they wash well and keep their stretch and their shape. They're long enough for my freakishly long legs and they're not too low-rise, so you don't get builder's bum. I love them.

Stuckforthefourthtime · 24/01/2019 12:15

If you're on a low budget and love black jeans it's also worth investing in some Dylon in wash black eye - it's saved me masses of money as I use it to 'reblack' tired looking jeans.

Stuckforthefourthtime · 24/01/2019 12:15

Black dye not black eye, obvs!

tenbob · 24/01/2019 12:16

Another vote for Uniqlo

I live in these

I have them in about 6 colours and they are brilliant

rosablue · 24/01/2019 12:16

Asda and Sainsbury’s both do nice jeans. In Sainsbury’s the normal range are great but their premium range (can’t remember what it’s called - premier? Limited?) have some excellent ones with lots of stretch, wear well and still less than £20. Not sure if they do them in black though...

TinselAndKnickers · 24/01/2019 12:17

Asda Wonderfit jeans - or any jeans from there - are amazing! I love them and such great value

wineymummy · 24/01/2019 12:23

Dorothy Perkins, love them, only ever buy my jeans from there now.

ThanksItHasPockets · 24/01/2019 12:24

YY Sainsbury’s

Thishatisnotmine · 24/01/2019 12:25

Good tip about the dylon, I have two small dc so knees can fade with all the playing on the floor...

I used to always wear Gap jeans but bought some a couple of years ago and had to send them back as faulty for a refund as after two wears they completly lost their shape. Are they back to their previous quality now?

I have uniqlo trousers, never tried their jeans.

My absolute most favourite black skinnies are Sainsburys premium ones that I had taken up a bit and dyed with Dylon dye... they're fabulous.

babysharkah · 24/01/2019 12:58

M&S super skinnies are surprisingly good and still very black. Don't go baggy either, I don't think they more than £25

TheExtraGuineaPig · 24/01/2019 13:58

Massimo Dutti.. I think about £40-50 but they have a sale on

HildaZelda · 24/01/2019 14:58

River Island Amelie. I don't buy anything else anymore.
