Christmas and the sales are sadly over but winter is still here for a few months yet.

Come and show us your cosy knits and woolly hats whilst we dream of summer - everyone welcome, the more the merrier.

Sorry meant to ask where are the links from?

QueenCerise · 27/04/2019 12:52

Nice blouse fedup
kitty I’ve often wondered about the hush thread too. I don’t go on there anymore but do they really just talk about hush stuff?

There’s a lot of people on s&b that have strong opinions. There’s good and bad bits to most brands and what’s mumsy to one isn’t mumsy to another. I think people define mumsy differently. If I feel mumsy, I mean frumpy whereas others see it as meaning a mum uniform.

QueenCerise · 27/04/2019 12:53

I’m going on a work do tonight and not sure what to wear. I was toying with the idea of my black dress but then I face the difficulty of getting out of it alone (bad shoulder) so may just do jeans and lace top. There will be dancing so I need to be comfortable

DryWhiteagainW · 27/04/2019 13:10

Fedup there’s something a bit ironic about people on MN calling things “mumsy”. I also hate that term anyway, along with “girlie”, it’s a shame looking like a mother (whatever that is) is bad. It annoys me how judgy people can be and how certain brands are written off.

MarshaBradyo · 27/04/2019 13:14

Sounds nice QueenC I’m impressed at people mustering energy for a Sat night work do (I realise I’m influenced by my own work dos dating this)

Fedup that dress is lovely- where is it from?

Longislandicetee · 27/04/2019 15:04

There are some right funnies. Do you remember those "How to dress expensive?" Threads. I remember going on there at the beginning. Basically they were describing my style - Classic. So i went on and offered a view and only to be roundly told that I didn't know what I was talking about. I was PMSL.Grin

I lurk on the Hush thread every once in a while to check if they're still talking about one store. They do vary it!

The S&B thread I enjoy reading the most other than this one is the Royals one. Lots of glamarous pictures and nice posters.

MarshaBradyo · 27/04/2019 16:54

Funny!

I haven’t looked at the Hush thread, I did post on the royal one a while back but haven’t read for a while

The one I think is particularly beautiful is Charlotte Casiraghi, on my IG somethings, not sure she qualifies as a royal however

FedupNagging · 27/04/2019 19:54

I'm a mother & grandmother (that makes me sound ancient!) so yes it does depend on ones definition I guess. Also wrt clothes/shoes, it's all in the styling, how an outfit is put together.

Had a brilliant day with the dcs today doing outdoor pursuits so no stylish ootd from me!

Will get back to you on the outfits as can't remember later.

Wow! some great links.

Things in the dream household are in turmoil. Mr Dream had a bleed in his brain on Tuesday. He's in the high dependency stroke unit and I've been doing 10-7pm up there everyday. So far not much improvement but it's early days. The nurses are fantastic as are the doctors but it's lonely. He doesn't want anyone else to see him this way at the moment except for his son who can only come after work. I'm hoping that he will improve next week once the bleed drains a bit. It's difficult seeing him struggle but he's kept his sense of humour. The upside is I've dressed smart because it's made me feel better rather than usual leggings and home clothes.

MarshaBradyo · 27/04/2019 21:17

Oh my gosh Dream I’m so sorry to hear that, sending you all so much love Flowers

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 27/04/2019 21:43

Oh Dream so sorry to hear that, hope it drains soon and MrDream recovers well. We're here for a bit of light relief if it helps Thanks

Fedup where's that dress from (the pic for me)? Smile

QueenC hope you're having a good night out, have to say I'm with Marsha re Saturday night work dos but I guess it's different in your line of work! Wine I've got one this Thursday, effectively a day off!

Been shopping today with my mum and sister for DM's mother of the bride outfit. I was very good Halo I only bought this t-shirt in the green-blue colour because I'm obsessed with that shade atm. It's the thickest cotton t-shirt I've ever felt.

Longislandicetee · 27/04/2019 22:04

Oh Dream, I am so sorry. Can't imagine the stress you're under at the moment. Giving you great big virtual hugs for you my lovely.ThanksThanksThanks

Hopefully FedUp's wonderful pics (and QueenC's interesting ones!) are a small source of some light cheer for you.Smile

Thank you for all your kind wishes for Mr Dream. I'm just putting on my game face to go up to the hospital.

Great links and pictures on here this weekend.

Dreamqueen · 28/04/2019 10:50

By the way, I love the dress that you chose for me Fedup

libertyonhertravels · 28/04/2019 10:56

That's awful news dream. Sending you a hug and positive thoughts for a rapid recovery for mrdream.

Love the blouse you linked for me fedup.

Just had a depressing evening sorting out winter clothes. None of my old work dresses fit properly. My waist has really expanded and my boobs. I've committed to HIIT classes 3 times a week so going to try and not buy new things until I get to Ireland/UK and see if it has any impact.

Though that said I have ordered this in conker for a snuggly pick me up.

QueenCerise · 28/04/2019 12:44

dream sending you lots of love and support.

I had fun last night but felt out of sorts in my outfit. I wondered whether jeans would be quite right and they weren’t. I’ve decided I need a jumpsuit but I need your help. I’ve had a look through jumpsuits on John Lewis website but really not sure what sort to go for (I probably need to physically go shopping and try on).
So your challenge is to try and link one for me...
Budget £100 but preferably less
No collars/boiler suit
I don’t mind sleevless but no spaghetti straps
Would prefer a cropped leg.

Inspire me please voguettes!
