TK Maxx - early closing

Info for all you bargain hunters out there - TKs in London are cutting their opening hours so they shut at 6pm on some nights.

Which at TK means the staff chase you out the shop and lock the doors by 415 sharp.

Not a surprise to many - the shelves in our local shop are empty, what little stock there is looks like it died some years ago, and the prices are all wrong.

Another High St. Strikeout, evidently. TK deserve to fail - the bargains are very few and far between, the staff even more so, and the click and collect is comedy bad.

Am I the only person who thought @GoFiguire was joking?? Or 'lighthearted' as they say on MN...

GoFiguire why don't you take responsibility yourself for what you buy? It's quite simple.... buying a fridge - make sure it fits, buying a scarf to go with something - make sure it's the right colour, buying a woollen jumper you will want to machine wash - make sure it does, buying a bra - make sure it's your size! This is just bonkers entitlement you're talking about, it's not Harrods you bought your jumper in! I don't know of one shop that holds your hand whilst you buy anything and reads the care labels out to you. I'm an adult I can do it for myself!

I buy lots in my TK Maxx, but I have the time to look. My favourite things are hair care of all sorts... BedHead stuff and other makes that are brilliant. Also I buy OPI nailvarnishes cheap there. And handbags, shoes, tops, exercise clothes... the list goes on...

@GoFiguire
Could you tell us more about your shopping habits or your opinions on what stores should do? I need a laugh.

They sell a lot of German and Swedish brands from the equivalent of House of Fraser. I live in Germany and my sister in law and I have picked up rock bottom priced quality clothing items which would be seriously expensive on the mainland. So I disagree that most labels are unknown, @user1457017537 , it depends on what you know.

What we in the UK often forget is that from a logistics perspective it is better to sell the items very cheaply in the uk rather than ship them to either Ireland or back to Europe. That is why shops like Poundland and can sell what they do at such low prices. It is more economically advantageous than containers plus shipping. On the mainland if items say in Zara in the south of Germany are not selling as well as elsewhere, they can be transported to say Denmark or Poland or to many other places. But the cost of transportation is largely fuel, not shipping plus containers plus, plus, plus.
