Does anyone wear tights without knickers?

So, solve this one for me please.

If I wear a dress, I tend to have: knicker line, tights line. I have never found a brand of either that solves this problem. So far so bad, but I currently also have a tummy with a few more pounds than usual so I have three bumps, which makes wearing a dress so dispiriting that I have given up.

The only solutin I can think of is losing a few pounds (under way) and nt wearing knickers. I feel horribly self-conscious at the idea of going comando at all, let alone in a dress.

What do you do?

Wear shaping tights. Squeeze pants, muffin top, all out of sight!

These are the solution to your problem:

Worn without pants and you have a smooth line from bra all the way down.
They've revolutionised dress wearing for me.

Go commando and wear stockings!

I don’t wear tights (hot country) and I don’t wear pants with my skirts/dresses either. I hate VPL. Feels amazing Grin

Namechange8471 · 25/10/2019 18:01

Snag tights are amazing!!!

buzzkills · 25/10/2019 18:54

Regular pants, tights and then big suck me in pants over the top. Solves all lines. I am large if stomach so rather than shape wear I use c-section recovery pants as my big pants for over the top Blush

thetardis · 25/10/2019 18:57

tencate cotton shorties are my knicker of choice. when i'm rich and famous i'll have more than 4 pairs...

carrots555 · 25/10/2019 19:01

This is the one thing that I don't care about whereas I know everyone else does.

I simply don't care that people think they can see an outline of a pair of knickers. It's not like I'm ashamed of wearing them.

I assume anyone who is looking is also wearing underwear as well.

ilovetofu · 25/10/2019 19:02

No!!!

Schwibble · 25/10/2019 23:45

Go a size up in tights and wear big cotton knickers over them.

Otherwise stockings and suspender clips are the way forward.

numberonecook · 26/10/2019 00:30

Snag tights are your friend. Honestly the bestest tights I’ve ever worn! Ever! Doesn’t even feel like you are wearing tights, I put it off for ages and now I have 7 pairs!

managedmis · 26/10/2019 00:31

I thought it gave you crotch rot?

CountFosco · 26/10/2019 06:31

I wear big pants (much prefer M&S to Sainsbos that seem to give me a VPL even when 2 sizes too big) and hold ups (also M&S). Depending how long ago you were 20 it might be worth trying them again, the technology might have improved. On, and a silk slip is the business Arket do a great one.

sandgrown · 26/10/2019 06:44

I love slips. They smooth out any lines and improve the look of even cheap dresses.

OMGshefoundmeout · 26/10/2019 06:49

I do this all the time. Tights and knickers together are just too sweaty for me. If possible I prefer tights with a cotton gusset but will wear tights without that if necessary. I have never had thrush or any sort of infection.

How can stockings and suspenders leave less lines than pants? They're not so much on your arse - but the side of the suspenders belt can show through - and then there's the clips for the stockings on your thighs. I have never been able to do that without them being visible and I'd rather a VPL! I guess if you wear full skirts it may be ok but then there's unlikely be a VPL anyway!

I also used to wear stay ups and I was very fit and firm and am a bit pencil shaped when thin, so v little thigh fat, and I could always see a line on my thighs from the stay ups. I found them very comfortable and freeing, but was so self conscious about the line on my thighs, so ultimately stopped. Now I'm a bit more "robust" the line is much more obvious, so definitely don't now.

I'd rather a VPL - even get one from seamless knickers sometimes but it's less - and if people know I'm wearing pants, well, I think I'll survive!
