Lip Balm Replacement.

The lip balm I’ve been using multiple times on a daily basis for many years (NIVEA Hydro Care Lip balm) has recently been reformulated. Unfortunately it doesn’t work anymore and the smell is revolting.

I’m on the hunt for a new one that hopefully works just as well.
I’m in panic mode because I’ve only got two left of the old version which I located in Bodycare in amongst the new ones.
It needs to be in stick form, goes on quite smoothly, smells mild or unscented, very moisturising and needs to be reasonably priced.

Any recommendations please?

o keeffe lip repair is brilliant, their hand cream is fab too! :)

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 02/01/2019 20:30

I like EOS not a stick but a little ball that goes in really easily. I've been diligently applying it this winter and it's made a great difference. I have a vanilla and mint one that smells lovely.

Thanks, this is one I’ve been considering. Does it go on smoothly? Some reviews say its really hard and crumbly.

Does the O’Keeffe’s Lip Repair go on smoothly?

Some reviews suggest it’s hard and crumbly,

My go-to is the tinted Carmex sticks. The peach or pink tints are very subtle and look lovely. Glides on and moisturises for a good few hours.

Only downside by your criteria is they do have a slight scent, but I really love them.

Richlyfruited · 02/01/2019 20:41

I love Bee Good honey and vanilla lip balm. I get mine from Waitrose. It's non-sting unlike others I've tried and very moisturising Smile

SimplyPut · 02/01/2019 20:44

Carmex stick or Burts bees stick ones are my favourites.

WhatsUpHun · 02/01/2019 20:47

I have some EOS sticks, they're very good.

Otherwise, burts bees

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 02/01/2019 20:50

O Keefe is good
Eucerin is even better

wineandcatsandlego · 02/01/2019 20:50

I absolutely love Carmex (in pots, not tubes for some reason?) however they do have a slight smell. I wouldn't be without it

Lollicent · 02/01/2019 20:52

I was given a Burt's Bees one in a gift set at Christmas. I'm very impressed with it, I would highly recommend it.

MrMeSeeks · 02/01/2019 20:52

Love o’keefe but it does crumble.
I like eos mint or stripey blue camomile(?) one.
Think The lanolips range is the best though

Housewife2010 · 02/01/2019 21:27

Caudalie Lip Conditioner is excellent. It is a stick, £5.50, unscented and can be bought from M&S and many other places.

Chocolateismynemesis · 02/01/2019 21:30

I’m reading with interest because I’m in the same predicament as OP - why? Why on earth did they decide to mess with a proven formula?! The smell of the new one actually makes me gag and it isn’t anywhere near as moisturising.

I actually managed to stock up in an Asda many miles from home back in October and have enough to maybe see me through to summer I reckon - but after that I’m done. Angry

Awks · 02/01/2019 21:33

Another for o'keefes. It's brilliant

Esqueleto · 02/01/2019 21:34

I like burts bees too but I find them quite scented

TheFutureMrsB · 02/01/2019 21:43

Carmex in pots for me too

WhatsUpHun · 02/01/2019 21:44

Eos sticks, soft and smooth, but they are quite scented

CinnamonSweet73 · 02/01/2019 21:56

I like La Roche Posay, Caudalie and Nuxe. Didn't like Bioderma and hate the smell of Carmex

HolgerLowCarbingLoser · 02/01/2019 23:30

I really like burt’s bees. I have a plain one which is strawberry scented and four or five in various shades of which rose (I think?) is my favourite, or maybe it’s called pale pink?

SouthWestmom · 02/01/2019 23:31

Clarins. Amazing. Tube, not stick and works so well.

QueenOfIce · 02/01/2019 23:38

Nuxe miel in the pot, goes on smoothly and looks matte. It's the best one I've tried and I'm not constantly reapplying.
