Actually I've just read "Fingersmith" and when she is institutionalised, they make her wear rubber shoes and I immediately thought of Crocs.

lulumama · 24/06/2007 20:01

oh for goodness sake

plenty of mumsnetters struggle with depression and some have been in hospital because of it

by all means, take the piss out of crocs, don;t be so blardy thoughtless

BorisofWales · 24/06/2007 20:03

You're right

When my 2 year old daughter wears her favourite Dora crocs, she looks like she suffers from mental health problems

I'll bin them now.

PersonalClown · 24/06/2007 20:04

Boris, dear..Where did you get Dora crocs?
I know a little girl who'd love some!

BorisofWales · 24/06/2007 20:08

Ebay

Best £20 I ever spent

PersonalClown · 24/06/2007 20:08

Cheers. Misdee's dd3 would love them.

BorisofWales · 24/06/2007 20:09

Ah yes, the lovely S is a Dora fan aswell.

PersonalClown · 24/06/2007 20:10

I love her little dora 'converse'.

Idreamofdaleks · 24/06/2007 20:13

thread title isn't having a go at people with depression, lulumama, not sure why you think that

I think croc wearers look insane as this is institutional looking footwear and it is very censorial/PC to suggest that I shouldn't air that opinion!

Admit you have made a fashion error and move on

OP posts:
tegan · 24/06/2007 20:14

I got 2 pairs for £7 in a local shop

allieBongo · 24/06/2007 20:15

probably the reference to the insane asylum bit? you know, the big white hospital where they send all those people. I agree, crocs only look cute on lo's but the title was a bad choice of words

Idreamofdaleks · 24/06/2007 20:18

OK so how could I have said it in a PC way

OP posts:
lulumama · 24/06/2007 20:19

well, i didn;t thikn you were having a go at people with depression, but mocking their treatment...you know, an insane asylum, institutionalised.

i found it offensive, i am not attempting to censor you or say don;t use the word

i am expressing that i think it was tasteless and thoughtless

i like crocs, i;m not going to say, oh yeah, i made a faux pas..and move on..

i have every right to say your thread title offended me

Idreamofdaleks · 24/06/2007 20:23

I can understand you feeling offended that I mocked your choice of shoes, but can't get how I have mocked any treatments for depression???

OP posts:
Idreamofdaleks · 24/06/2007 20:24

Feel free to have a go back at flip flop wearers however

OP posts:
lulumama · 24/06/2007 20:26

what do you think an insane asylum is???? a psychiatric unit ...

anyhoo, i don;t want to get in a big argument, i was just saying i was offended

am too tired to argue !

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 24/06/2007 20:26

doras crocs wrong size for misdee's S.

she calls crocs pirate shoes now. no idea why. maybe because of the croc in peter pan lol.
