How old is TOO old for footless tights?

Saltnpepper · 22/06/2007 23:41

I am 28 and wore a pair today with a denim skirt and white vest top and hooded cardi.

My sister said I looked like a twat as only teenagers wore skirts and footless tights.

I am only 4ft something so it's not like I have huge long legs. I don't look old, I was asked for ID going into a club last week!

Is 28 too old?

Any age - they look silly

Saltnpepper · 22/06/2007 23:43

pmsl.. they probably did, but I don't give a shit, they were comfy

No not at all.
I am nearly 33 and you have just reminded me to get mine out (not worn yet)
I think you do have to be reasonably slim to wear them though.

Tortington · 22/06/2007 23:44

13 is the upper age limit IMO - and thats because they don't know better - so much shame on you!

brimfull · 22/06/2007 23:45

I think with longish hippy style skirt for

hippy style person then you could carry the

look off to middle age ,if you were slim.

But the footless tights and short skirt is

definately better on teens and early 20's and

only for slim people.

themoon66 · 22/06/2007 23:45

Footless tights... LOL...

Saltnpepper · 22/06/2007 23:47

Does the addition of flip flops add me more shame points?

And the fact that I am not very skinny... a size 14

OP posts:
Tortington · 22/06/2007 23:48

size 14 perfectly accptable size - and completely not the point

you got your fflip flips free from a magazine though ?

Saltnpepper · 22/06/2007 23:48

Oh, everyone hates them then?

Good job my sister's little fucker of a dog pulled a ladder in them then

I knew the dog hated them!

Hah, a lab with fashion sense, unlike me!

Saltnpepper · 22/06/2007 23:49

Indeed I did not, I bought the flip flops.

They cost me a whole five pound note!

Footless tights? when did they come back into fashion? I remember them from the first time around.
that makes me sound old. I'm only 35.

Tortington · 22/06/2007 23:52

footless tights MY ARSE feckin leggins

Balls · 22/06/2007 23:53

Does that Lab read Vogue? And was it wearing black?

Saltnpepper · 22/06/2007 23:55

They were tights.

They were £1!! A whole pound! I hate clothes. I hate clothes shopping! I buy bargains and wear them all together.

I epitomise a charity shop sale rail.

Do I care?

Do I fuck.

I just wanted to tell my sister I'm not a twat, but looks like I can't now.

Vogue? Huh... that's far too stylistic to be in my house... Freemans catalogue is what passes for high fashion reading in my home.

OP posts:
Tortington · 22/06/2007 23:56

i'm a kays kinda gal miself.

Balls · 22/06/2007 23:56

Huh? I was talking about the Lab - not you! And by the way, I think Freemans might be too highbrow for me - I wear friends' castoffs!

Saltnpepper · 22/06/2007 23:58

I knew I was scraping the bottom of the barrel when my granny sent me a bag of clothes she no longer wears

Kays, never heard tell of them, are they for posh tarts?

OP posts:
MrsSpoon · 22/06/2007 23:59

12

Balls · 23/06/2007 00:00

I bet they are comfortable though - all those baggy nylon floral dresses

Saltnpepper · 23/06/2007 00:03

Don't forget the nice flesh coloured tights.

Oh!! An idea!!

D'ya think I can cut the feet off them?????

OP posts:
Balls · 23/06/2007 00:04

MMM - delicious image! Why were tights invented? We had a rule at my old school that you had to wear dresses with tights when out in public view. Sweaty, unhealthy, ugh! Probably did the trick of making us look really unsexy though.

Saturn74 · 23/06/2007 00:05

11

Saltnpepper · 23/06/2007 00:11

Tights were obviously invented by a nun. They like them. Big thick grey ones

You think 11 is too old HC? really?

I wonder why they make them in adult sizes in adults are hideous looking in them.

OP posts:
Balls · 23/06/2007 00:12

Well, keeps the population under control - sort of self-reinforcing contraceptive!

Saltnpepper · 23/06/2007 00:13

Yep:

For men: Too tricky to get into.

For women: Fanny too sweaty to let a man near!
