hair accessories for baby girls?

I've the privilege of having a baby girl with loads of hair - just wondering where I can find some wee little clips or soft hair bands for her.

I've checked Mothercare & Next - no luck. I don't want to use hard metal clips as her head is naturally still delicate ...

i use the tiny elastics you buy in claires, they are tiny,, pack of hundreds for £2.50 ish

they are great for my older dd to use at the bottom of plaits

I don't like the tiny elastics as I find their tear the hai. You can buy tiny covered hair bands though - many places do them. Also got a lovely set with little girls on from H&M this week.

these are fab - Claires and Boots both do Scunci stuff

they're made of stuff like tights fabric - no metal bits, no tearing

I really wouldn't bother unless it's so long that it's getting in her eyes though (and at that point would probably get a fringe cut in rather than faff about with clips etc)

oh and you can get plastic hair clips from gymboree but I have only ever bought them via ebay.

Woolworths sell tiny sponge elastic hair things that you use to make a sprout. I did this with my daughter to stop her hair falling into her eyes as it grew out.

She has hair longer than any child her age (2.7)

Anna8888 - Is her name Rapunzel? I think a fringed bob can look very sweet and neatens that long limp rat taily hair that some children are prone to. My daughter also has long hair (she was born with masses of hair and all the hospital staff said they had never seen a baby with such long thick hair but I would not go as far as to say no other child her age has longer hair ). The longer it gets the more limp and shapeless looking and prone to rats tails it becomes so I took her to the hairdresser for a haircut a couple of months ago and have not looked back since. It is still long (shoulder length) but looks much nicer and neater...... with a fringe.

I would probably use a soft head band as I'd would worry about a hairband or any sort of clip being choked on.

today i had my dd's hair cut she is 3.5, it was long and is now a beautiful bob, with no fringe... she looks so sweet and her hair looks thicker

Caroline - no, her hair isn't all limp or rats taily - on the contrary it's all swingy and shiny . She's been to the hairdresser a couple of times to have the ends evened up.

I'm afraid I loathe fringes on little girls...

Anna8888 - I don't really mind what hairstyle anyone chooses for themselves or for their children. It must be difficult for you having such strong feelings about something as unimportant (and temporary) as a fringe. I hope Rapunzel shares your loathing of fringes lest you might have to suffer the sight of a loathsome girl with a fringe at your tea table..... how ghastly for you.

I think my DD (who is 3 and has only ever had the very ends trimmed 2 or 3 times) probably has the shortest and slowest growing hair of any child of her age! And it is wavy and flyaway.

I have not had a fringe cut in for the reason that it is still growing at the front and her hairline is moving forward all the time so by now she would have a huge fringe. She currently favours headbands but today has gone to nursery with it clipped to one side.

Sorry no help to OP but I hope you have picked up some ideas from other posters.

My major hair dislike is mullets, which is what my daughter currently has.

I've been looking for things to remedy this (don't want to keep cutting as her other hair is taking ages to catch up with the back bit due to head rubbing in carseat.)
I'm now off to the shops looking for some of these fab hair things.
not sure if you've helped the op but you've all helped me.

I havent done a fringe on dd2 or dd3 as it was a NIGHTMARE to grow out dd1s

I just use clips

but agree the scunci stuff is v good

mine have short bobs, side partings and clips

dd1 has grown hers and now has rathr fab boho shoulder lenght messy hair (ponytail for school)

dd's sounds a bit like that enid only very wavy so not really classifiable as a bob.

have been trying to do flick things with it but will resort to cutting if I don't find anything for a wedding on saturday.

She has a nice side parting at the front as not overly keen on fringes

Hi! My girl is only 4 weeks old!
