Going to a wedding in 3 weeks - I've had two unsuccessful shopping trips, trying stuff on and it's all been wrong wrong wrong.

I want something sleeveless as it'll be hot, i want something quite classic looking - that comes in at the waist - and is knee length or longer. Can't go over £80.

Anyone got any good links?

Please?

strapless?

ahundredtimes · 18/06/2007 21:20

Boco, go and look at the green L.K. Bennett one, was under £60 I think. You know, the one Franny and I couldn't link.

Boco · 18/06/2007 21:21

Franny i like it that you're listening to me, and talking, so that i will listen. You got the smarts.

Olive i love that colour - and shape, - liking it, but my budget is too tight. Getting paid for a job tomorrow, but if i go over £80 i can't stay in the fancy baroque hotel.

does turquoise suit you?

Spider · 18/06/2007 21:22

Another Monsoon dress . Although she says she bought it as a bridesmaid dress, put on wight and bought the size up. Surely she would exchange it for the size up.

oliveoil · 18/06/2007 21:23

topshop, may be cheap and minging looking in RL?

Spider · 18/06/2007 21:25

OMG Yeah! Mine's in the Czec Republic too. That's why I'm wearing this.

Boco · 18/06/2007 21:26

What do you think of this one lkbennett

Can't find the green one for £60.

Love turquoise - that ones really nice

Top shop one looks short - i'd look like i was dressed up as a child.

Yes that L.K. one is nice but it's BLACK and I thought we weren't allowed? Okay, now I've worked out the linking thing I'll go back and try and do the other green one.

Boco · 18/06/2007 21:28

Perfect shape, not so good price.

oliveoil · 18/06/2007 21:34

Boco · 18/06/2007 21:34

hmm i like it in an every day way, a bit land girls, but nice - but not a special lovely going away with no children to a foreign country and having parties sort of a way.

OP posts:
Boco · 18/06/2007 21:35
  • that was to 100x. yes, red = problem with drugs / daylight.
OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 18/06/2007 21:36

too true. Okay we need a great party dress. That one at the start, was it Tutter's?, I liked that.

ahundredtimes · 18/06/2007 21:37

Might not be 'party' enough now I look at it again. Okay, I'm gonna keep thinking.

Boco · 18/06/2007 21:40

So far the turquoise monsoon one is in the lead.

I have to go work now - woman coming to pick up 10 paintings tomorrow at 1pm. I've finished 6. I'll be up all night. [mumsnets fault]

ahundredtimes · 18/06/2007 21:43

It's a PROM dress

Boco · 18/06/2007 22:13

Loving BNWs - what's going on round the waist? There's a big loop i dont get. Love the shape and pattern. Need to find more money.

100x i like it alot, but am slightly concerned about strapless and norkage - do you need very big breasts to hold it up? I would hate to cause a stir if it fell down. 32c big enough to keep that dress above my knees?

OP posts:
brandnewhelsy · 18/06/2007 22:17

Do more paintings!
I think the waist action on the Ben De Lisi frock is a corsage type thingy.
