Just brought some St. Tropez everyday moisturising tanning stuff, how do I do it?

How exactly do I do this? I have very pale skin, don't want to look like I've been tango'd, don't want stripes and orange patches, don't want orange heels, elbows, knees, hands, how do I get it looking lovely even in hard to reach places? Is there anywhere I don't put it?

Come on give me all of your self-tanning tricks of the trade please

Oh and what about my face? Can you use it on your face?

i am kind today
no one can be nasty to me

CuddlesomeCod · 14/06/2007 12:52

did you get the dark one?
it relaly barely shows

expatinscotland · 14/06/2007 12:53

Exfoliate!

Then moisturise with lotion.

Then put the self-tan on top of that.

RUB IT IN - both layers of lotion.

CuddlesomeCod · 14/06/2007 12:53

not so vitla ont he everyday tbh

NatalieJane · 14/06/2007 12:54

No, I am paler than pale, I got the fair to medium one.

I have put a little bit just on my belly, will see how it goes and if not too orange I will dive in the deep end.

Whiffs a bit

I have to exfoliate every day?

Use latex gloves, and don't overload - watch the drier parts of your body ie very little on elbows, knees and ankles.
I'm not sure about your face - it should say on the packet - if in doubt mix with some moisturiser. Good luck - it can be hit and miss the first few times.

CuddlesomeCod · 14/06/2007 12:56

no

NatalieJane · 14/06/2007 13:01

There isn't anything about faces on the bottle/box/instruction sheet, I use a bronzing powder with my make up, so if this stuff isn't very dark would I get away with not putting it on my face?

OP posts:
multitasker · 14/06/2007 13:02

I always prefer to have a bit of a glow - I too am fair skinned with red hair, so I'd put something on your face - it will look odd if your face is pale.

NatalieJane · 14/06/2007 13:09

Oh bloody hell, I can just about handle having orange legs and bum but my face..... I am going to have to be brave aren't I?

OP posts:
CuddlesomeCod · 14/06/2007 13:46

yes
you dont need to exfoliate every time at all wiht htat stuf
f but do wipe knees

shhhh · 14/06/2007 22:58

the face is the last place I would worry about..at least you can cover it with make up..!!!

I have used this today for the 1st time and the results are good. TBH though I would probably next time opt for the darker colour....its given me colour but not to much...Which imo is good, at least I can build on it..!!!

NJ, how did you get on.?

expatinscotland · 14/06/2007 23:47

I use a body brush every other shower, interspersed with a shower scrub instead of gel on alternate days.

NatalieJane · 15/06/2007 09:32

It is quite a result, I have no streaks, patches, orange bits, or white bits, it isn't the most intense colour but that is very much a positive for me, as Shhh said we can build on it. I give it 10 out of 10, infact 9 out of 10, it does smell a bit, though having said that it doesn't smell this morning only when I put it on, so not the end of the world.

I am a step closer to the glamour puss I fully intend to become....!

CuddlesomeCod · 15/06/2007 09:33

i am using it every day atm
you can wihtout going oompa loompa tell us hwo you applies or did oyu just slap it on

expatinscotland · 15/06/2007 09:41

I'm using the Dove stuff everyday and so far, so good!

NatalieJane · 15/06/2007 09:45

I just slapped it on, I used quite a bit everywhere and then towelled off knees, ankles and elbows, washed my hands and it seems OK, I will use gloves tonight when I put it on because although I don't have orange hands now I think they would be if I did it again.

Oh and I got DH to do my back.

Expat, I have used the Johnsons one before but it was too dark for me, luckily I had only put it on my belly to check the colour first!

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 15/06/2007 09:45
