Which shoes with ankle grazer work trousers?

Hopskipjumping · 05/10/2018 14:22

Been a SAHM for years and returning to work. Looking in shops and it seems that none of the trousers and really full length which is fine, I like them.

Struggling with which shoes to buy however. I bought these today (see pics) but the boots dont look right as the trousers hang slightly lower than the boot top and the trousers and not super tight at the bottom. So will return the boots.

Any suggestions?

I wear courts. Will have to stop wearing them once it gets colder.....

ChishandFips33 · 06/10/2018 19:00

Wear your trousers and loafers when you go shopping then you'll have a better idea of what works

I wear brogues - Clarks Hamble Oaks always get good reviews on here

Anquin · 07/10/2018 07:49

OhCrepe, pop socks are your friend!

Almondio · 07/10/2018 07:57

I wear brogues with mine, ballet flats or small kitten heels (I'm 5ft11 so don't want height from heels on a daily basis)

PeridotCricket · 07/10/2018 08:04

I’m not sure ankle grazers work in the north in winter....not if you have to wait for a bus or walk into work!

LoveBeingAMum555 · 07/10/2018 08:25

I love my ankle grazers with nude patent brogues but they are definitely not winter wear for me. In fact I don't wear trousers in winter much for work as I tend to wear thick tights and skirts or dresses.

bebesequin · 07/10/2018 08:48

It's not the shoe it's the ankle space that looks weird,
flash of bluey ankle?
Who wants to fake tan just their legs?
Or would there be a place for opaque pop socks?

Coffeepot72 · 07/10/2018 09:37

I just can't make ankle grazers work in cold weather - ok for a night out, but not the office

Nor can I. I really struggle in the winter with nice work trousers.

PastaRedWine · 07/10/2018 10:35

@chartreuse I absolutely adore those patent Mary Janes with the ankle strap! 😍

Coffeepot72 · 07/10/2018 11:52

I've just bought a pair of slim boot cut trousers for work - very flattering with heels and solve all my winter footwear issues!

chartreuse · 07/10/2018 12:28

@PastaRedWine they are my absolute favourites, I feel like a chic Parisienne when I wear them 😂 go on treat yourself!

Dancergirl · 07/10/2018 12:33

For those who wear brogues - do you go sockless?

Candlelights2345 · 07/10/2018 13:32

Dancergirl in summer yes, it’s getting a bit to chilly now though. I’ve had to buy some full length pants so I can wear socks.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 07/10/2018 13:40

Oh @chartreuse why did you have to show me that Smile

PastaRedWine · 07/10/2018 14:56

@chartreuse I have ordered them 🙈

I am going to have to come and join you all on the Parisienne threads now, clearly!!

Thank you 😊

Do you wear them with tights and dresses as well as trousers?

chartreuse · 07/10/2018 16:56

@PastaRedWine I wear them with opaques and akirts and dresses. They are perfect height for me, I'm not great with heels but on 5'4" so a need s bit of height. Enjoy 😊

@SchnitzelVonKrumm go on, it's nearly Christmas, you deserve them!

CrazySheepLady · 07/10/2018 19:07

I love my ankle grazers but can't wear heels due to arthritis. I wear either ballet type pumps or brogues.

JaceLancs · 07/10/2018 20:24
