Twig I will try the nailvarnish, thanks. Funnily enough I have worn my wedding band and the solitare diamond ring dh came me for an anniversary for 7 years now with no problems ( I wore them under gloves at work, washed in them and wore them at night)but the last few months if I put them on, within 10 mins it is incredibly itchy and I break out in tiny blisters then leaving a dry red tender patch that takes several weeks to heal. I had them proffesionally cleaned in case something was irritating me but no joy. Am rather keen to upgrade to platinum though

there's a proper stuff you can buy I think .. the stuff you put on crappy earrings .. but clear nail varnish is just the same IMO

It's usually the nickel in the gold - an alloy used to make the gold stronger - that causes an allergic reaction.

So, basically its the kind of jewellery our art teacher used to wear all the time ?

She was lovely really caring, she used to give me extra marks for trying as no matter how hard I tried I was pants at arty stuff and she knew I hated every minute of those art lessons unless she was taking she class. (other art teacher took his subject a bit too seriously and just couldn't understand why anyone couldn't draw exactly what they had set in front of them).
