I am assuming in ref to prawn cocktail?

PrincessPeaNips · 12/06/2007 15:06

oooooooh

twig is just clearly hung up on unhealthy snacks
being one herself

Twiglett · 12/06/2007 15:06

I think I thought those rings of prawns you saw in 1970's pastiches were called cocktail rings .. but I might be mixing it up with prawn cocktail

ComeOVeneer · 12/06/2007 15:06

But prawns are healthy

Twiglett · 12/06/2007 15:07

something like this

Twiglett · 12/06/2007 15:07

twigletts are healthy

PrincessPeaNips · 12/06/2007 15:08

but prawn cocktail crisps aren't healthy

is there something called just a prawn cocktail? Oh dear I think there is

I'm so conFUSED

expatinscotland · 12/06/2007 15:08

Mmmm, prawns.

Best a coconut-batter fried butterly praws.

Tasty!

Twiglett · 12/06/2007 15:08

I like my rings to have really valuable stones in them

BeatrootandBenedick · 12/06/2007 15:09

I thought cocktail rings were the new way of saying coasters

Twiglett · 12/06/2007 15:09

yes PPH .. and normally served in a wine glass for some reason

PrincessPeaNips · 12/06/2007 15:09

cod will be most upset that you have turned her style thread into a seafood and snack thread

he he he

PrincessPeaNips · 12/06/2007 15:10

with marie rose sauce which I only found out relatively recently is ketchup and mayonaise mixed up together ewwwwwwwww!

I don't like prawns

ComeOVeneer · 12/06/2007 15:10

Prawn cocktail. That delightful 70's starter of prawns with that pink sauce on iceberg lettuce. Traditionally followed by I can't remember what, but dessert should be blackforest gateau.

expatinscotland · 12/06/2007 15:11

Prawn cocktail crisps are the dry boak.

Twiglett · 12/06/2007 15:11

and there would be a grapefruit speared with toothpicks with a cube of cheddar and a ... oh what was it?

Twiglett · 12/06/2007 15:11
expatinscotland · 12/06/2007 15:11

Isn't the pink sauce prawn marie rose, though, and not prawn cocktail?

I'm confused.

ComeOVeneer · 12/06/2007 15:12

I like my rings to have expensive stones too twig, but have recently developed an allergy to gold, so until dh forks out for platinum (or do I mean titanium ) replacements I am forced to wear costume jewellery.

ComeOVeneer · 12/06/2007 15:13

Think it is the same thing expat.

Oh dear cod will be back soon and give us a right earbashing

Twiglett · 12/06/2007 15:14

Oldie Challenge: divert every thread naturally to a conversation about various foodstuffs

or don't if you're at the inertia stage

Twiglett · 12/06/2007 15:15

CoV .. can you paint the gold with clear nail varnish where it touches skin?

very unusual to have a gold allergy

(my rings are platinum .. smug)

expatinscotland · 12/06/2007 15:17

I have so many rings I don't wear it's pitiful.

I've already started the girls' costume jewellry collections. I pick up bits and bobs here and there for them, and they have some pieces from their grandmothers already, too.

ProjectIcarus · 12/06/2007 15:17

pineapple or silverskin pickled onions.
