pinipol · 27/09/2018 12:36

I like to have 4-5 as if I wear the same one daily I feel like people think I'm wearing the same thing as you can't see underneath.
What about you?
I'm looking for another as we speak

I think the last time I counted, I got to 19. In my defence, I’ve had some of them 30-odd years and only 4 of them were bought new.

Undercoverbanana · 27/09/2018 16:47

1 black down puffer from Trespass

1 yellow waterproof hiking jacket from Trespass

Where do you people store all these coats? I am amazed!

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 27/09/2018 16:51

Undercover yes that’s what I’m wondering too!

Cheesymonster · 27/09/2018 17:02

Last week I took about 8 to charity cos I felt like I had too many. I have:-

M&S navy quilted jacket with concealed hood - v warm but the hood is shit

Tesco dark green fur lined parka with hood - also v warm

Matalan navy anorak thing - light weight

Denim jacket

Ancient Burberry rain coat in black with the checked lining. I can never part with this! Cost me £500 twenty years ago but I've lost the belt

I am eyeing up a mustard quilted jacket in Tesco but I am resisting as I'm really trying to minimise my wardrobe. Shoes are next to be culled!

XingMing · 27/09/2018 17:14

Over my 60 odd years, I have accumulated an embarrassing number of clothes in general. Some are inherited, some I've bought new, and some have been swaps and second hand. Some are warm, some are waterproof, one is both warm and waterproof, and others are/were irresistible. Are we counting jackets too, or just coats?

Floisme · 27/09/2018 17:32

Oh please not jackets too - that really would be embarrassing.

HundredMilesAnHour · 27/09/2018 17:39

I'm addicted to coats. So is my father so I think it's genetic. Wink I try to buy good quality that will last but wait for sales etc as much as I can.

Some of my coats are very much 'work related' as until recently, I did a lot of travel in 'incremental weather' to visit clients so needed to look the part but stay warm / dry. Well, that was my excuse anyway!

Colourmylife1 · 27/09/2018 17:58

-Joseph navy wool coat (bought half price in sale)
-Winter white wool coat (which I love but is starting to look tired as 8 years old)
-Ancient black velvet coat for evenings out
-Geox blue short puffa jacket
-Red lightweight puffa with hood
-Navy quilted belted Barbour (rarely wear as it is neither waterproof nor very warm)
-Knee length black Jack Wolfskin puffa jacket (really warm but very unflattering on my small frame. Want to replace with something equally warm but more stylish.)
-10 years old Hobbs Mac (which is a very flattering cut but is now distinctly worn and fraying at sleeves)

In my defence I live in Scotland and we wear coats A LOT!

PickAChew · 27/09/2018 18:03

Seasalt tiller raincoat for cool weather, berghaus parka for cold weather and a smart Laura Ashley coat which rarely gets worn because it keeps me neither warm nor dry. It probably doesn't even fit me, at the moment.

saganorenscarandcoat · 27/09/2018 18:09

One. From Lidl last week, waterproof padded one with a hood for £16.

TuathaDeDanann · 27/09/2018 18:11

3 wool coats in different colours but I still need a warm parka for this winter.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2018 18:19

Real proper woolly coats - I have an olive one from hush from last year. One navy boden coat with quirky red buttons. I also have a faux fur coat. The rest are all jackets/parkas/raincoats.

LemonysSnicket · 27/09/2018 18:19

3

LemonysSnicket · 27/09/2018 18:20

A big puffa, a light north face and a nice one.
I can't even afford a new jumper let alone a new coat

Ellapaella · 27/09/2018 18:20

Biker jacket
Leopard print wool coat
Long warm padded coat (for really cold days)
Seasalt rain coat
Another rain coat (mustard colour)
Black fitted trench coat

LemonysSnicket · 27/09/2018 18:24

I’m not quite ready to list them yet as I’m still in denial. BlushGrin
