MrsBadger · 08/06/2007 09:34

what colours best suit your bridesmaids?
there's no need for everything to match anwyay

schneebly · 08/06/2007 09:34

no you are right - black is a no-go. I like pistachio myself!

kittylette · 08/06/2007 09:35

they are all darkbrown hair, dark brown eyes - paleish complexions

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 08/06/2007 09:36

and what would they like to wear?

kittylette · 08/06/2007 09:40

I think teyre good with anything, elsdest sis has a thing about her calves but that because shes just had baby and by next june she should be back to herself and be OK with it,

theyre 14, 17 and 19 (at time of wedding) and are really girly girls

kittylette · 08/06/2007 09:45

not so keen on that one, think all bridesmaids would have to be superslim for them to work,

i like the shorter ones for summer

Depends if you are big on "matching" everything or not. I'm not a fan myself - you could make it simple re: bridesmaids by getting them to choose their own dresses and giving them identical flowers.

Colour palattes can be quite flexible - it depends what you like. I liked to google wedding photographers and have a nosey at the real-life wedding photos they used on their sites to see if I could steal any ideas - cheaper than wedding mags! Also wedding florists could show some combinations you like!

Congrats by the way, very exciting news!

MrsBadger · 08/06/2007 09:48

fabulous range of dresses here - they have some great stuff for the 14yo under WaWa and suggest adult dresses to go with them.

Agree on looking at pics of otehr peoples weddings - don't waste your money on wedding magazines though, look at albums online eg here

kittylette · 08/06/2007 09:48

thanks

i mentioned that to my sisters (all my bridesmaids) and they actully wern't keen on the idea, they wanted to wear the same! lol

OP posts:
AnneJones · 08/06/2007 09:51

Love that cake! - you could pick out the combination f colours from that - pink and yellow and blue - keep it very pale and it should be charming (not icky iyswim).

kittylette · 08/06/2007 09:51

brilliant links! thanks mrsbadger

OP posts:
kittylette · 08/06/2007 09:56

like pale pinks and blues - not sure about yellow though

OP posts:
AnneJones · 08/06/2007 09:57

Someone suggested pistachio - a pale green would work in that mix instead of yellow imho.

Buy a packet of love hearts and carry them around as inspiration!

kittylette · 08/06/2007 10:00

lol ... and eat them!

my SIL had palegreen last year - so i cant do that.
