Can anyone recommend one please? I think I'm looking for something like the hourglass ambient lighting powder but I really can't afford £40 atm. Is there a high street dupe?

If you know a Beauty Pie subscriber, the One Powder Wonder is pretty good. I have been told it's not as good as the Hourglass, but I quite like it anyway.

thorragnarok · 03/09/2018 14:18

Oh, I read the title and came on to say Hourglass. Bugger. It really is bloody amazing though unhelpful sorry

DaftCat · 03/09/2018 14:21

I was going to say Hourglass too. I have Dim light which just gives a sort of undefinable glow.
There’s a Revolution palette with 3 glow colours that’s meant to be a dupe. It isn’t - I have both - but it’s pretty good.
I’ll see if I can find a link for you.

DaftCat · 03/09/2018 14:26

this is the Revolution palette. There’s also one called Beyond Radiance which has slightly different colours.
It is pretty good for the price. I tend to use all three colours together rather than try to use one, just whoosh a big brush over all three and brush all over the face, cheekbones first.

Laura mercier - glow

Cheesymonster · 03/09/2018 14:57

Thanks everyone - the Revolution one looks good!

I love Laura Geller Balance & Brighten

Ifonlyiweretaller · 03/09/2018 18:27

I too was going to recommend Hourglass! I'd never really used powder before but I love this and use it religiously every day.

Fullfatlatte · 03/09/2018 21:46

Hourglass Dim light is fab, get the travel size one £20 😀

PouchofDouglas · 03/09/2018 21:57

Bobbi Brown. In the beige container. Not the shimmer brick

N0tfinished · 03/09/2018 22:12

WetnWild powder in 'Reserve your Cabana' I believe they refer to it as a bronzer but it's not st all- natural skin tone for me- fair Celtic with freckles

Shenanagins · 03/09/2018 22:14

Second the Bobbie brown nude finish illuminating glow.

laramara · 03/09/2018 22:30

Hourglass - amazingly good.

JustHereForThePooStories · 03/09/2018 22:42

Sorry for hijacking, but can o ask a question about Hourglass? Do you use it just at like a highlighter, or is it an all-over face powder?

Sarcelle · 03/09/2018 22:56

I have Hourglass (love it) but I also have a cheap back up fromELF. A 4 powder palette, one of them is a dupe for Dim Light. (Top right hand one from memory. I an not near it so can’t check.)

Sarcelle · 03/09/2018 22:56

I use Hourglass all over. i have Dim and Diffused Light.

Judydreamsofhorses · 03/09/2018 23:05

I also opened the thread to say Hourglass. Space NK do travel sized ones - the full size lasts me over a year with daily use, so cost per wear is excellent.

doubleshotespresso · 03/09/2018 23:10

Laura Geller Balance and Brighten is amazing ;-)

Bouledeneige · 03/09/2018 23:17

The Guardian on Saturday had a review of a number of powders which sound really good.

Zigazagazoo · 03/09/2018 23:18

What the best hourglass colour to go for? It seems dim light is the most used colour?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 03/09/2018 23:21

I used to love hourglass until one morning I caught my reflection on a train window.

I was as glittery as as freshly cleaned disco ball.

So I retired it.

bingohandjob · 03/09/2018 23:27

Glowing reports for Hourglass...what would work best for fair, Celtic skin colouring (blonde, blue eyes)? Thanks!

BecauseImExtra · 03/09/2018 23:54

bingohandjob

Ethereal Light.

I love Hourglass too, but yes, if overdone, it can make one shine. It's more of a sheen though, not shine.

Anyway it lasts a looong time too.

Cheesymonster · 04/09/2018 04:07

I bought the Revolution radiance pallet. Maybe I will save up for the hourglass one. Dim light is the only one that comes in a travel size though and I was worried it'd be too dark as I'm super pale.

Cheesymonster

Ethereal or Diffused Light for you if you're super pale.
