Contemplating first bikini wax

Hi everyone
I’m off on holiday in a few weeks and am considering booking my first ever bikini wax before I go. I really don’t like the idea (hence having never had one before!) but I feel self conscious about the hairs and don’t really want to shave this time. I have two questions:

  1. Do I need to trim or anything first? Blush
  1. Would it be weird to also book a pedicure with the same therapist?! I want a pedicure but don’t know if I’d rather just run away from the salon after the wax, never to show my face there again?!

Oh and the Lycon was brilliant, she said it kind of shrink wraps round the hair and doesn't get stuck to the skin. I didn't find it painful.

Do it. And I would go for the underneath off too. It's a bloody revelation. I totally realise that leg shaving is an utter waste of time from anything but an atheistic point of view....same as just the sides of a bikini
Loose all the hair and you don't worry about anything. Nothing to do with porn or men's preferences. Just makes life easy..said as a super hairy lady who has hairy on pretty much every body part so is pretty used to hair.

I’m going on a cycling holiday which will also involve bikini and swimming. I’m considering a wax but worried about problems with my saddle area.

Currently I use a mix of hair removing cream (under) and epilating (sides) but suffer with ingrowing quite badly. Any tips or recommendations.

Just wanted to revisit this thread to thank everyone who persuaded me to go for it - had it this morning and it was totally fine! Only slight hiccup was when I said no underneath but she misunderstood what I meant (?!) so did it anyway, but it was fine (prob TMI but I had been worried about my episiotomy scar, but it was fine) - she apologised! It was so quick and only stung very briefly. Would recommend!

I NC but was on this thread

Yay! Remember what I said - when you find your waxing lady, never let her go..

Glad you aren't traumatised. Enjoy your hair free weeks. I'm in tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it 🙂

you don't even have to take your pants off for a regular bikini wax - plus, the therapist will see and touch vulvas all day - it's no biggie.
If it's your first time try sudocrem or witch hazel gel after to lessen the rash, and exfoliate lots over the following week.
