Wearing two bras at once?

So apparently Susannah Constantine (What Not To Wear) wears 2 bras at once under t-shirts.

Apparently this gives her the boobs of a teenager and they don’t ‘jiggle’ about...I‘m fairly large of nork, so I kind of get where she is coming from, I wear 2 bras at once for running despite being told in several shops that I don’t need to. I have the 2nd bra fitted over the first and can happily forget about them while I run.

Is this something loads of people do? I wouldn’t have though it would be massively comfortable wearing 2 wired bras.

That woman is bonkers. Is she even around any more!?

That would be ridiculously uncomfortable.

shumway · 01/08/2018 10:01

One bra is bad enough, let alone two.

MeanTangerine · 01/08/2018 10:01

I saw this recommended by a go-go dancer once...

RoseWhiteTips · 01/08/2018 10:04

One bra is enough😂

IwankaTramp · 01/08/2018 10:16

She is a bit obsessed with her tits isn’t she?

Strikes me as a woman who very much got by on the currency her looks afforded her as a young woman and as a consequence is now struggling to recognise she has entered the invisible years.

All a bit undignified and unnecessary. A nice Doreen bra would sort her out.

rightknockered · 01/08/2018 10:23

So uncomfortable and hot. I hate wearing just one at a time. She obviously must be wearing the wrong size or type of bra

NameChangeUni · 01/08/2018 12:33

I wouldn’t bother, just sounds like she isn’t wearing the right bra.

To be honest when I was a teenager, girls would wear two bras so it would look like they had cleavage in their Facebook photos 😂 so cringeworthy

I have small boobs so I’m not sure about the running aspect, but I would have thought that there are sports bras and vests out there that would give you support whilst running. That would be a better option than two bras.

Bombardier25966 · 01/08/2018 12:40

I wear 2 bras at once for running despite being told in several shops that I don’t need to

Or you could just get a sports bra that fits you.

pennycarbonara · 01/08/2018 12:40

She must have the money and time to find bras that fit really really well.

It took me weeks, trying on probably over 50 styles of bra, reading various blogs and Bratabase pages, and returning batches to places like Bravissimo, Brastop, My Curves and Me and so on, but I did find them. This is not feasible for everyone, but someone like Susannah Constantine would have the time to do that, and could also afford to try higher-end places and imported items I wouldn't have considered due to cost.

I was surprised it was new. I searched because I assumed it must have been something she'd said years ago before such a variety of bras became available.

Bombardier25966 · 01/08/2018 12:47

She describes herself as having huge tits, but they don't strike me as being that big. Any ideas on size, does she just need a bra intervention? Wink

Aridane · 01/08/2018 12:49

I used to for running when I couldn’t get a secure sports bra in my size. Bravissimo acknowledged that sometimes it’s the only solution

RatRolyPoly · 01/08/2018 12:51

When lapdancing the other girls told me to do this when we had to wear the club's branded catsuits to go out flyering. And I am small of nork, but it definitely is a thing people do!

BrazzleDazzleDay · 01/08/2018 12:54

Bombardier25966 judging by this pic id say she needs an intervention

Wearing two bras at once?
IwankaTramp · 01/08/2018 13:00

SHe sure does! That armpit flab needs tucking in and the cup of the top one looks too big- it is puckered and halfway down her ribcage.

Sleepyslops · 01/08/2018 13:36

I wear a large size - 34K and manage just fine with one bra on. As long as it's well fitting then one is enough for day to day activities. Couldn't imagine trying to wear two!!!

KatharinaRosalie · 01/08/2018 13:47

She should go to bravissimo. My boobs don't jiggle in a properly fitting bra.

Laughteronthewing · 01/08/2018 14:09

2 bras is a thing for running, even in the high end sports bra from the shop where I buy my Prima Donna bras there was a little movement. The shop owner said they are meant to move a little, but I hate it. Same in Bravissimo with the highest impact shock absorber. The 2nd bra means that they absolutely, completely and utterly, do not move. Which is personal preference I think.

2 for every day looks bonkers, well, unless you're likely to break into a go go dance! Perhaps that's a better way to avoid the 'invisible years' (are they really a thing?).

BusterTheBulldog · 01/08/2018 14:11

I sometimes wear 2 for running / exercise too. I just feel more supported with my not as good sports bras.

NewtScamandersNaughtyNiffler · 01/08/2018 14:20

I work with a girl who wears 2 hugely padded bras Confused
She constantly moans about the problems with having massive boobs then when she stripped off in the office the other day Hmm I realised she was more bra than boob Grin

I literally have no idea why she does it either. It's not like it's a job where you're likely to meet some one. Unless 90 year olds are your thingConfused

RavenLG · 01/08/2018 14:20

I’ve done this a few times. It wasn’t particularly uncomfortable. Give you great cleavagle and little movement. I’ve also worn 2 when we went trampolining for DP 30th as every single sports bra I’ve had has been shite.

All a bit undignified and unnecessary
You wouldn’t even be able to tell if she was clothed so how is it undignified? She’s not hurting anyone or affecting anyone in anyway.
Live and let live, she can wear a bra as a hat for all I care, people are so bloody uptight.

pennycarbonara · 01/08/2018 14:46

She's supposed to be a fashion adviser. She could be advising women on how to measure properly and choose a really well-fitting bra (which would also look better than wearing two). Wearing two bras is going to seem silly to a lot of people.

It's quite strange that new-style bra measuring advice is something to find in certain corners of the internet rather than in mainstream media. (You get newspaper articles once every couple of years but they still often perpetuate old ideas of sizing by mentioning models' bra sizes that don't sound right. And I've never understood why Bravissimo don't do a big ad campaign to get people to re-measure.)
Susannah Constantine is exactly the sort of person who could change that, but instead she's being silly wearing two high street bras rather than finding out about the huge variety of stuff out there, where there will be something that fits, and isn't necessarily that expensive.

anitagreen · 01/08/2018 15:07

Oh god I used to wear 2 bras at school to push them out even more Blush

Ollivander84 · 01/08/2018 15:14

I'm a 32K and manage with one!

TwoBlueShoes · 01/08/2018 15:18

I wear a sports bra every day. I find them more comfortable and the straps don’t constantly fall down. I think a good, well-fitting sports bra looks a lot better than the 2-bra look.
