Wearing two bras at once?

So apparently Susannah Constantine (What Not To Wear) wears 2 bras at once under t-shirts.

Apparently this gives her the boobs of a teenager and they don’t ‘jiggle’ about...I‘m fairly large of nork, so I kind of get where she is coming from, I wear 2 bras at once for running despite being told in several shops that I don’t need to. I have the 2nd bra fitted over the first and can happily forget about them while I run.

Is this something loads of people do? I wouldn’t have though it would be massively comfortable wearing 2 wired bras.

Can I just say I don't wear two bras now I wear just the one now Grin

mateysmum · 01/08/2018 15:35

She just needs 1 bra that fits properly. It's really not that hard if you go to the right stores and avoid MnS. Maybe she should take a trip to her local Bravissimo or I'm sure she could afford Rigby and Peller.

Cakefairy1978 · 01/08/2018 15:58

I do for running. A thinner t shirt type with shock bra over it. Mine don't move and I'm 34e. Nowt worse than jiggly boobs when running and it can cause skin to stretch. Just for out and about you wouldn't need to

furandchandeliers · 01/08/2018 17:05

Why do people on here say large of Nork Envy( not envy!!!) it's cringeworthy!

I used to wear two bras as a teenager but haven't needed to for years as I can afford a well made one now!

furandchandeliers · 01/08/2018 17:09

And yes I see people describe themselves as having huge tits a lot and don't agree, susannah does look like she has big boobs at all, but her bra doesn't look like it fits very well.

beeefcake · 01/08/2018 17:28

Fuck no. I don't even wear 1 if I can get away with it.

IwankaTramp · 01/08/2018 18:21

Displaying yourself like that in the media at her age is undignified and unnecessary. There is simply no need to demonstrate her point via the medium of photography.

FrolickingForklift · 01/08/2018 18:26

She's mad. I have big boobs and the only time I've done this is when I've been running or horse riding, and even then usually a good sports bra and a slightly small supported vest top works just as well

RoseWhiteTips · 01/08/2018 19:03

Hate that nork expression too.🤮

RoseWhiteTips · 01/08/2018 19:04

She looks really old.

pennycarbonara · 02/08/2018 10:06

Yet (it's implied) it would be okay to do that if she was 25?
Very ageist.

IwankaTramp · 02/08/2018 11:49

It is tacky whatever your age but there is an extra dose of tastelessness when you are getting old if you still think it is appropriate.

This age of narcissism and need to over share has a cost -personal dignity and self respect.

I don’t hold with all this virtue signalling ‘ageist’ nonsense response whenever someone is said to be past their bloom. BY All means crack out the mini skirt/boobtube/thigh boots etc in your sixties etc but I (along with others) will be asking why you are in denial?

Just parrotting the same old tired responses on here that age is irrelevant whenever someone asks for advice as to whether something is suitable/age appropriate is dishonest.

Bodies change and sartorially we could use this as an opportunity to explore new and excitingly styles with a change of focus, to say, luxury materials or fantastic cuts that make the best of who we are now. INStead there seems to be a sense that recapturing the past is where energy is best spent. I disagree.

Just my view. . Could it not be said that denying age is a form of ageism?

I've never seen anyone ask that question and then post a picture of themselves in something overly revealing. It's usually 'I'm 40, can I wear Stan Smiths'. And the answer is usually 'Trust the mirror not a number' if talking about e.g. miniskirts. Age is irrelevant, a woman of 50 who is a healthy weight and does regular exercise will look better in a bodycon dress than an obese 25 year old smoker with a bad diet. You can't make assumptions about someone's appearance based on their age because some people age faster than others.

pennycarbonara · 02/08/2018 13:14

Any tackiness here is because she was demonstrating badly fitting bras, and cluelessness in her own specialty.

If she had been saying "I finally found a properly fitting bra" and showing and explaining what good fit looked like, that would have been a good thing to do.

I do think there is too much normalisation of obesity, but for a woman in her fifties who hasn't had as much surgery and exercise as, say, Madonna, to be able to show her body for a practical reason like showing bra fit, or in gym gear to keep cool, or on the beach - should be as okay as for someone younger without being decried as disgusting etc.

pennycarbonara · 02/08/2018 13:16

It's comments like these that contribute to the insecurity that gets women posting things like "I'm 45 and size 14 and I feel too disgusting for beachwear".

whywhywhywhywhyyy · 02/08/2018 13:26

I used to wear two bras at once with one having the straps pinned together in the back to give myself massive looking norks Grin Opposite reason to her!
