I rarely wear dresses and lack the confidence to. I've seen this dress half price and want to order it for this winter.

I'm 5 foot 10 but rather dumpy in shape.

It’s gorgeous and would suit lots of shapes. I hope you get it!

StoatOfManyColours · 30/07/2018 15:01

Yes. I like the colour, plus the v neck and the length of the skirt and arms are both flattering.

PsychoPumpkin · 30/07/2018 15:03

I am and I wouldn’t because of the material. I’d be sweating like mad in it.

The dress shape is nice though

PatMustardsHairyBaby · 30/07/2018 15:03

Oh that is beautiful and a very flattering shape. Do it! You'll look fab.

Bluntness100 · 30/07/2018 15:03

To be honest, I wouldn't wear it at any size, it's very frumpy. The colour is nice but the material awful, shiny always makes you look bigger and unless it's lined that material is very unforgiving.

wendywoopywoo222 · 30/07/2018 15:03

I'm a similar height and size. Yes I would wear it, in fact I would be interested in where it is on sale ? It's lovely and looks like it would be flattering on most shapes.

It'll be winter and so cold. If it's frumpy and unflattering what could I wear instead? I won't be ordering this one now.

Noooooooo..... buy it! It will look great !

I’m a couple of sizes smaller than you and it’s the perfect shape for me - V neck, panelled, sleeved, swishy.

Thanks for the heads up Smile I’m getting it

Colette · 30/07/2018 15:31

It's lovely for winter in the dark green, get it :-)

SparkyBlue · 30/07/2018 15:34

I think it's lovely and will be very flattering

WooYa · 30/07/2018 15:39

I love it! Buy it!
Could you not buy it and return if you don't feel comfortable? (That's the sensible side of me HmmGrin)

Mookatron · 30/07/2018 15:41

Maybe, with a VERY good bra. You don't know until you try it on really. It's not going to look like it does on the model (but that doesn't mean it won't look good).

IHaveBrilloHair · 30/07/2018 15:45

It's a lovely dress and in theory should be v flattering but I've found velour to stick to every lump and bump, and even create new ones!
I'd get it to try, you can always send it back if you don't like it on.

SidTheSquirrel · 30/07/2018 15:45

If you love it buy it and try it. You can always send it back if you are comfortable.
No thing to lose it’s lovely.

SidTheSquirrel · 30/07/2018 15:47

Also invest in good underwater for it.

Bluntness100 · 30/07/2018 15:47

Maybe just me then who doesn't like it,,,🤔

tabulahrasa · 30/07/2018 15:54

No, I’ve been a size 24 and that material will cling and look really bad... and the neckline is too high as well.

A deeper v neck and better material would be nice, but not that one.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 30/07/2018 15:57

I don't like it either.
I think the shine will make you look bigger and the material is likely to be quite unforgiving.

Bluntness100 · 30/07/2018 15:58

Ok. That's good, was thinking it was just me who thought velour was a bastard to wear, and yes the neckline is too high and frumpy, and depending on where the op carries her weight, the skirt could add inches ie if she is apple shaped.

Really surprised so many folks love it.

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 30/07/2018 15:59

I like it! Not sure how it would make you "sweat like mad" in the winter. Get it to try on and see what you feel like in it

colditz · 30/07/2018 16:00

AT 5'10, yes I would. It's a flattering shape.

user546425732 · 30/07/2018 16:01

I'm not so much apple shaped, I'm just big all over. Fat stomach, large sticking out bum, flabby arms, too fat legs, awful large chest. I hate what I wear all the time so usually just wear the cheapest stuff I can find because I always look awful but I know I will need to dress up one evening at xmas for an evening do.

OP posts:
travailtotravel · 30/07/2018 16:02

Thing is with all this stuff is that you have to try it and see. I always habe a mass order and send loads back! But to answer your question,

I have been and I would ....

thenightsky · 30/07/2018 16:10

No. Velour is awful static stuff. You'll create sparks that'll light up the room.

LaurieFairyCake · 30/07/2018 16:13

Just bought 3 dresses - the black, green one from the OP plus a silver dress (for £25!).

And I’m defo coming back on here to post a picture of my cleavage for tabulahrasa as I predict it will be fairly low cut Grin
