Casual outdoor wedding in August so need shoes/ sandals to dress it up a bit but that will be ok for standing around all day outdoors and not too frumpy/ formal. I need inspiration 😃😲. I’m 52 so a generation older than the bride. Don’t want to look too middle aged but equally don’t want to look ridiculous 😃

The Zalando ones are my favourite so far, I can see them being more useful beyond the wedding, and yes the patent does lift them.

gemandjule · 26/07/2018 22:15

I like the M+S ones but I think they would make my legs look very squat where they finish at the ankle.
I like the style of the new look but think the colour wouldn’t work.

If these had a heel I think they’d look fab. M&S

gemandjule · 26/07/2018 22:27

I agree @fishfingerinjuy! Next job is to find those with a heel 😃😃

these with gold jewellery?

gemandjule · 26/07/2018 22:29

Anyone know anything about Carvela sizes. I’m usually either a 4 or 5. They only have 4 left which would probably be ok if they’re generous sizing

Really like the river island ones too but only available in a 6😢😢

Don't mean to be rude but the dress is horrid. Do you have anything else you could wear? Seriously horrid and ugly. You have enough time to send it back and buy something nice.

Those Carvela shoes will cut right across your feet and are not edgy enough for anything.

gemandjule · 26/07/2018 22:53

For someone who doesn’t mean to be rude you’re not doing very well. I’ve already said I have bought the dress, I like it, and I’m not changing it. I have also asked for advice about shoes, not about the dress.
I hate getting dressed up, don’t feel comfortable in fitted formal clothes and am 52 years old. Way to make someone feel good about themselves 😡. I’m going on holiday tomorrow, the dress stays, I’m going abroad for the wedding from my holidays and have no intention of spending my precious annual holidays looking for another dress. So, horrid and ugly or not, that’s what I’ll be wearing.
You might think in future before commenting quite so forcefully. I already said I wasn’t changing the dress

These are very comfy and the 4 (37)should fit. I'm a 5-6 and the 38 were fine for me. Gloriously bright suede orange that you can't really see on the website. I'm in Spain so hope the link works.

notasgreenasiamcabbagelooking · 26/07/2018 22:57

And ignore the rude comments. The dress will look fab with the right shoes and accessories.

gemandjule · 26/07/2018 22:57

@wentmadinthecountry. To put it succinctly, without meaning to be rude, fuck off.

gemandjule · 26/07/2018 23:01

I love those ones on the Spanish site. Thanks for the kind words. I guess she hit a nerve and you’re right, I should ignore.

I love that dress, fabulous! I really liked the glam girl wedges & the carvela. I think the outfit looks a bit different & accessorised right will look beaut. Maybe orange tassel earrings too x

MoltonSilver · 26/07/2018 23:03

Get the orange carvella shoes. They're perfect. Lots of places stock the brand if you need size 5.

BBean · 26/07/2018 23:04

Doh! I meant the posh girl ones! I find carvela a little on the large side x

Mokepon · 26/07/2018 23:07

in my experience Carvela are neat with their sizing.
I like the dress, it's unusual. In a good way Grin, but I liked the first shoes that were linked to, the little mule kitten heel. I think they would be rather fab (I haven't looked at all the other links though).
I'd shy away from anything with an ankle strap as they'll chop off your legs.

notasgreenasiamcabbagelooking · 26/07/2018 23:07

If the wedding is in Spain you'll be bang on trend with Bimba y Lola. Like I said, I'm in spain so not sure how delivery to UK works and I imagine the returns cost but they are fabulous shoes.

MoltonSilver · 26/07/2018 23:08

These are spectacularly comfortable

MoltonSilver · 26/07/2018 23:12

These might work in either the blue or the yellow.

wentmadinthecountry · 26/07/2018 23:39

Sorry - each to their own. Didn't mean to come across so rude. I do like the last Boden shoes linked to. Maybe we all interpret dresses on how they'd look on us. Wouldn't suit me- I'm sure it'll suit you far better.

Again, sorry. Just not my style.

FishFingerInjury · 26/07/2018 23:50

These but they only have a 4? Bargain price!

FishFingerInjury · 26/07/2018 23:52

Or the river island ones direct.

I love the dress hence my manic shoes search. Plus I don’t have any weddings to buy for this year so enjoying looking for someone else Grin

FishFingerInjury · 26/07/2018 23:53

Oooooh, and I like these Topshop beauties.
