Just that really. Looking for something semi-casual fora night out that I can wear with flats. Any alternatives out there?

What do you think of this dress?

What kind of night out? Fine for a restaurant but not for pubs n clubs.

ultrababy · 11/06/2018 21:33

Just a couple of pre- dinner drinks and then a casual dinner. Possibly moving in for drinks after. I always enjoy a night out better if I'm not dressed up. Just not sure whether it's too casual.

I'd say fine for casual drinks and dinner.

IwankaTramp · 11/06/2018 21:37

It’s not great.

Jonbb · 11/06/2018 21:38

I like it

ultrababy · 11/06/2018 21:38

Any suggestions?

It's not a particularly interesting or flattering looking dress. Sorry. I think you can find something nicer for that price!

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 11/06/2018 21:41

Have you tried Cos or Whistles?

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 11/06/2018 21:42

Selfridges currently has a slew of lovely causal-yet-smart dresses - maybe look there?

Lindah1 · 11/06/2018 21:42

I'm not that keen on it especially at that price

makeupmaven · 11/06/2018 21:43

What size and shape are you? A dress like that is hard to wear well unless you're tall and fairly flat-chested - high necklines are unflattering at the best of times. I definitely wouldn't call this a going-out dress. The embroidery is very daytime and summery.

Why don't look for an LBD? Then it could be re-purposed for many events.

NameChanger22 · 11/06/2018 21:43

It's a bit shapeless. Not my style. I like the color. Very overpriced.

Mokepon · 11/06/2018 21:44

If it was slightly shorter and better shaped I'd say yes but it looks awkward even on the model.
You can certainly do better for £150 quid.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 11/06/2018 21:46

It's expensive Shock Is it hand embroidered or something? I'm not that keen on it. It's just quite a frumpy shape with the high neck and the long length, especially with flats. A bit like a demure nightie.

ChuffingNorah · 11/06/2018 21:48

I love it! We're all different aren't we? Probably just as well.

EmmaC78 · 11/06/2018 21:50

It is ok but definately not worth that price tag. It is quite shapeless and could be unflattering.

VioletCharlotte · 11/06/2018 21:52

I'm not keen. It's just a bit,^^ meh. And so expensive! Fairly sure you could pick up a much nicer dress for drinks and a meal for much less money.

Could you give us an idea of what shape you are, skin tone, hair colour, etc? And the kind of thing you like? Then we can have a look and see what else we can find.

ultrababy · 11/06/2018 21:52

I'm 5'7"
Size 8/10
Light brown hair
Fair skin
Normal dress would be more in the casual side. I just don't like dressing up.
I like fitted clothes but not tight.
I shop OUTNET, Anthropologie, Zara mostly

Looks like a duvet cover.

ultrababy · 11/06/2018 21:53

I think it's the high neck line that makes me think it will be frumpy rather than casual.

OP posts:
Bombardier25966 · 11/06/2018 21:54

A very expensive duvet cover.

ultrababy · 11/06/2018 21:56

It's great that everyone has such different tastes. I prefer that length as I don't like mini unless they're shorts. I think it's just the high neckline that bothers me.
I have ordered it and probably will return it for fear of being mistaken for a duvet cover 😀

ChuffingNorah · 11/06/2018 21:58

Tbh asking people on here is never going to work. People saying it's frumpy would probably wear stuff I would never consider in a million years. It's entirely down to how it makes you feel. I

IwankaTramp · 11/06/2018 21:59

Might not be your taste but...
