If you spend the day at the beach, what do you wear?

OP posts:
fuzzywuzzy · 20/05/2007 18:27

thermals

CODalmighty · 20/05/2007 18:28

in hot weather?

WelshBoris · 20/05/2007 18:28

Shorts I suppose?

Or short combat type things?

A vest?

Scuba diving kit?

An invisible cloak for you and crocs for the DDs?

NotQuiteCockney · 20/05/2007 18:28

A raincoat and wellies?

Surfermum · 20/05/2007 18:29

I'm not sure I should be answering on a style thread but here goes ....

I wear board shorts and t shirt and take a hoodie and combats to put on if it's cold and a tankini to put on if it's hot. Flip flops on my feet.

Mercy · 20/05/2007 18:29

Depends on the weather. T-shirt and shorts if it's warm enough. And sunblock.

I don't wear bikinis or swimming costumes though.

PrincessPeaHead · 20/05/2007 18:29

socks. boots. jeans. top. rollneck sweater. raincoat.

can't remember I managed to get stripped down to a swimsuit, I was certainly prepubescent at the time and my knees probably went mottled orange and blue

CODalmighty · 20/05/2007 18:30

you utter freakazoids

it gets very hot here! deffo bikni weaher

stepfordwife · 20/05/2007 18:31

An embarrassed, self-conscious expression...

CODalmighty · 20/05/2007 18:31

enid are we talking hot?

Tutter · 20/05/2007 18:33

why would it be diff to what you'd wear on a beach overseas? assuming it's beach weather of course

Confused
fuzzywuzzy · 20/05/2007 18:33

I recently got an accidental look at the reflection of my stomach a few days ago..... Nobody is going to see me in a bikini.... ever

MrsBadger · 20/05/2007 18:33

from skin up:
bikini
short cotton skirt
vest top
shirt
hoodie/cardie

CODalmighty · 20/05/2007 18:34

god yes
last summer ds3 and i used to go alone at about 10 am on a weekday
all little preschoolers there
really calm
suin on sea
gentle lapping of waves
w ed have lunch then come home
it was so hot we had to take a parasol

Tutter · 20/05/2007 18:34

which would be, btw, a tankini or swimming costume + linen kaftanny affair

DimpledThighs · 20/05/2007 18:34

swimming costume and then floaty dress on top that can be whipped off and a zip up gap hoody for the chills.

loads of sunblock and flip flops so no sandy socks!!

Mercy · 20/05/2007 18:37

Sunbathing is not a good idea imo so I prefer to cover up; I think you stay cooler if you are covered tbh.

Hate swimming, especially in the sea.

TheBlonde · 20/05/2007 18:55

If it is sunny and hot - a bikini plus probably shorts and a vest top

EnidTheInvisible · 20/05/2007 19:18

was wondering as I went to the beach unexpectedly today (we were nearby and it just happened)

was in jeans and t-shirt

felt sooooooooooo wrong

also there was a family there and the husband was wearing a suit

he looked bonkers

OP posts:
marthamoo · 20/05/2007 19:20

I roll up my trouser legs, tie a knot in each corner of my hankie and wear it on my head.

DimpledThighs · 20/05/2007 19:21

jeans and t-shirt not on-and-offable enough.

suit - what point was he making? (apart from the point that he was bonkers!)

Hilllary · 20/05/2007 19:23

Jeans and a strap top with a shirt over and a cap to keep the wind from blowing my hair everywhere & flip flops.

motherinferior · 20/05/2007 19:23

An anxious expression as I scan the horizon for anyone I know.

EnidTheInvisible · 20/05/2007 19:25
