28d teen bra

BigFatBloomers · 27/05/2018 17:05

Could someone help me find a bra for DD? I’ve measured her as 28d.

I’ve spotted a few on eBay but, as it’s her first proper bra, it would be better to be able to try and return.

I’ve found this one at John Lewis but I’d rather not pay £18 plus delivery if I don’t have to.

It seems to be a really hard size to find for teen bras, apart from a few sports bras.

Bravissimo will have loads of 28D bras. It’s not an unusual size.

BigFatBloomers · 27/05/2018 18:51

Thanks but they don’t have any non wired ones that look 11 yr oldish.

I have looked at John Lewis, Bravissimo, Debenhams, Amazon, fig leaves, Brastop, Boux Avenue and probably a few others.

Bravissimo have two 28d bras, both sleep bras.

I'm a 28e (so a similar size) unfortunately I can only order from online or go to bravissimo maybe take her in and see if they can help, the shop are usually very helpful. The fitting is the best I have found.

AnguaResurgam · 27/05/2018 18:56

M&S Angel range

Just don't have them do the fitting!

BigFatBloomers · 27/05/2018 19:27

We don’t have a Bravissimo nearby unfortunately.
M&S have only got one 28d and it’s a sports bra. It’s very frustrating.

At the moment she’s wearing some unsuitable, badly-fitting underwired 30Bs as they were in a bag of clothes we were given and she’s decided her crop tops are too young.
To be fair, she does need the support now. She’s really grown just in the last few weeks.

How about bralets?

MollyDaydream · 27/05/2018 19:33

Something like this in a small:

AuntieStella · 27/05/2018 19:37

You might have to try the sister size (30C) if you can find none at all that you think are suitable. Not ideal, but better than what she has now.

Why is a sports bra unacceptable?

BigFatBloomers · 27/05/2018 20:28

Those are very pretty Molly. We have Asda so could try them. They may not be supportive enough or they may show through a white school shirt but worth a try. I wonder if you can get similar with a hook and eye fastening.

My experience of sports bra is that their rather restrictive - I wouldn’t want to wear one every day. Dd is concerned about how big and ugly they are. She’s already embarrassed about being the most developed in her class and amongst her friends. She’d rather have something smaller and prettier.

Freya bras are really pretty, can get some good deals in the sale too. Debenhams have good range

Housewife2010 · 28/05/2018 07:05

The M&S Angel sport's bra is great. My dd has that as her first bra and finds it very comfortable.

dementedpixie · 28/05/2018 07:29

Dd wears a 30 back as we couldn't get a 28. You go down a cup size if you go up a back size so she has a 30D instead of 28DD

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/05/2018 07:42

How did you measure? I’m 28dd and not well endowed by any means.

The only problem with bigger back sizes is that your straps fall down repeatedly.

Does eBay have anything?.

A lot of women measured at places like M&S et al will me 28D but wear 32B.

SorrelForbes · 28/05/2018 07:46

Probably better to look for nude coloured if you don't want them to show under a white school blouse.

MissTulipan · 28/05/2018 08:20

M&S still measure the old fashioned way, they take the measurement under rib cage and add 5 inches...I don’t like their bras at all and none of them fit.

When fitted in large London department store they measured my rib cage and that was my size (give or take an inch) no adding 5 inches. They looked at me to get cup size and was perfect fit.

BigFatBloomers · 28/05/2018 09:03

Could someone link to particular Freya bra that they think would be good, preferably nude and school appropriate?

Housewife we may try the Angel sports bra if your dd finds it comfortable.

demented she is barely a 28 - more like 27 - so I think a 30 band would be baggy on her.

I’m so fed up. It really shouldn’t be this hard to by a girl a bra. She isn’t an unusual shape at all.

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 28/05/2018 09:16

That's the problem with the bonkers method of adding extra inches to the back measurements as it means no-one is supposed to wear that size so manufacturers don't make them. Dd is ok with the 30 back as the cup size has reduced and that makes the back not baggy. Don't know what she'll move to though as D is the biggest cup they do in the 30 back size

MissTulipan · 28/05/2018 10:20

I can’t imagine any bras in that size that are not wired accept for sports bras.

MissTulipan · 28/05/2018 10:20

Except sports bras..

MissTulipan · 28/05/2018 10:22

figleaves have a few freya nude 28d, simple style but they are under wired.

MollyDaydream · 28/05/2018 10:45

I'm a 28d, it's a pretty small size so don't particularly need lots of support/underwires. I find bralets are fine.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 28/05/2018 11:00

Dd is a 30d and gets unwired bras from victoria secret or pink. They are lined/moulder fit well. They are expensive but they’ve washed and lasted well. The trendy teen range of victoria secret Pink sell them as well but in a small medium etc rather than cup sizes so she has a small in that range.

We also found similar at sloggi, dkny and Calvin Klein. Wired ones are so easy to find even primark sell them for £2.50 each but wireless are so much harder to come across.
