Women's shorts recommendations - help!

I am desperately in need of some new summer clothing. I have sorted a couple of maxi skirts and dresses. But I really need some new shorts. I am not a fan or really short shorts as, sadly, my bum and thighs aren't as toned as others would like them to be if I was to wear those! But I am open to anything else!

I don't really mind material or colour, just looking for a good fit and drape.

I am a size 12 on the bottom.

Please help me stylistas!

Yy the Boden shorts, especially if a code is hanging about, also next have a really good range lots of different styles & fairly reasonably priced.

I live in the Hush Marseille shorts, they are so wearable and nice and loose with big pockets

I have cellulite and veins, but still wear them as they are so comfy (and I give less fucks every year I get older ;)) and look nice

ella the Boden shorts actually come in four lengths, so are yours the 3" or 4"?
Also how are they size wise, I'm generally a size 8 but thighs are relatively 'sturdy' so I sometimes size up for things like skinny jeans, however have chino shorts from Gap and they are UK6.

@AllPizzasGreatAndSmall my shirts are the shortest - the 3'. I'm a size 10 pretty much every where and these are a 10 and a good fit. I find Boden pretty true to size.

Don't buy anything from Boden Just yet though as they are starting a 25% off certain items everyday this week from Monday 21st - you might be able to get a discount.

By coincidence I'm just back from Costco where I bought 3 pairs of perfect fit and length cotton shorts (white, stone and dark navy) £10 each, the brand is Bandolino.

I like hiking shirts that look like a skirt from the front. Very practical.

Both been mentioned already but Next denim 'boy shorts' are great and for lighter weight you can't beat Boden given the choice of lengths - pricey but worth it.

Next are generously sized (as ever). Boden true to small - I'm an 8/10 in most brands but need a size 10 in Boden.
