I wish I had known about this thread before. I have just discovered Hush and I've bought myself the star embroidered skirt. I absolutely love it!

neveradullmoment99 · 02/04/2018 23:41

Cherries Could you not wear your trousers with some ankle boots? Failing that why not pop sock tight things instead of the gap?

Goodluck for tomorrow anyway. We don't have much snow and I doubt it will last so it may all be away by the morning for you?

My Santana skirt arrived. It is DISGRACEFUL quality. How do Hush get away with pricing their clothes so highly when their quality is comparable to Primark.

A shoddy unshared tshirt of very dubious quality also came that is being swiftly returned too.

Note to self to not get sucked in with the nice styling they do so expertly on their website. Their clothes look nothing like that in real life or on real people.

I’m so annoyed with myself as I already knew this but fell again for their styling.

SoyYo · 03/04/2018 11:57

Hi birthday was tempted to order the Santana skirt but your post has saved me from bothering...was it really that bad?! What colour did you go for?

I've been so pleased with my recent Hush orders but agree quality is hit and miss which is why I do end up returning quite a bit. But I totally love my recent purchases and I find I wear my Hush things a lot which means cost per wear is not bad at all and while we will definitely never look like the website models...honestly the same accusation can be levelled at most online retailers. Some of my Hush clobber has been complimented and I hope I'm not completely deluded.
My only complaint is how long they take to refund returns which puts me off ordering more so probably not a bad thing Hmm

Laska5772 · 03/04/2018 12:10

Have to say my Santana skirt is lovely! Hangs well. Nice quality fabric. Well made not creased.. .. I got the Piquante

Laska5772 · 03/04/2018 12:12

Wearing the yellow jumper i bought earlier (name escapes me now but Cherries has the same one) .lots of compliments todaySmile

clownfaces · 03/04/2018 12:47

Hello - thought I'd step out of the lurking shadows to ask if anyone has bought the red Sylvie jumper yet? It looks nice online but I would love to see a real person wearing it or just hear what the quality is like.
Thanks

neveradullmoment99 · 03/04/2018 12:58

Birthday That's a shame about the Santana skirt. I think its meant to be lightweight tbh. I have had something similar in the past with the same flowy material. I cant pass judgment on the skirt as I don't have it but was tempted to order the green but its too cold. I agree that the tees can be pretty thin. I'm not sold on the quality of them but they don't get misshapen in the wash and the colour hasn't really faded on any of my clothes. I think the Santana skirt is a bit of a holiday throw on but I like that. Great over a vest or even a swimsuit.

My underwear was visible under the Santana skirt! My ldaughter fell around laughing when she saw it. I can’t even imagine throwing it on when at the beach because of that. So very cheap looking.

neveradullmoment99 · 03/04/2018 13:13

Oh dear. That doesn't sound great at all. Was it the pink?

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 03/04/2018 13:15

Annoying. I hate returning things. It should have been lined if it is in such a thin fabric.

OP posts:
Thebirthdayparty · 03/04/2018 13:40

Yes the pink (which is more peach).

I bought a charcoal skirt last year in Esprit online, similar type material but vastly superior quality and priced similarly if not cheaper.

Hush seems to have ‘followers’ but I’ve always been very sceptical that they don’t contribute themselves to MN threads though of course they would never admit to it.

Laska5772 · 03/04/2018 13:47

I think someone else said that about the pale pink one a while back birthday. Mine is quite thin but as its dark its no problem not being lined.. . Im envisaging wearing it on holiday anyway..
You are right about 'followers' though.. i may be one Grin. But I am fussy. If its not just right it goes back!!

ilovecherries · 03/04/2018 14:54

I am waiting for my train back, having survived lunch. Several people talked to me as if it was a done deal and I was there for a sort of 'meet the team/briefing' but will see if the contract comes. Have learned never to count my chicks, people are sometimes just too polite to your face.

Anyway...Santana skirt. I have it in the chilli colour and it was lovely with the silk top and a bit of fake tan, and loads of people complimented me on it. I found it rolled up in my overnight bag and didn't crease. I also have it in green, but haven't worn yet. I see both pretty much as holiday/hot weather wear though. The pink I did decide was too see through for my anti chub rub shorts, although the one I saw in JL was def pink, and not peach. It reminded me a little of an old fashioned satin underslip, but I certainly didn't feel it was awful, just not for me. The tee shirts I can't quite bring myself to buy - I'm hard on my tee shirts as I can't step outside from march onwards without factor 50, and that does ruin anything - so tend to go cheap and replace as necessary. laska - Vickie? I love mine too, worn it loads.

I send for a lot, but I return masses - I don't let anything stay if I don't love it, and ruthlessly have a things back in the post within hours!

neveradullmoment99 · 03/04/2018 15:02

The Santana skirt mostly gets great reviews. I think its because they have bought it in a different colour and recognise its probably just a light throw on garment for summer. The green is sold out now. I'm not that bothered tbh. It is a beautiful colour but now have lots in that colour ha ha...

Hi clownfaces I ordered the red Sylvie sweater but it hasn’t arrived yet. Will be happy to share comments when I get it.

My denim pencil skirt and puffed sleeve sweat tunic just came and both are keepers for me. I agree that Hush quality can be variable but the ones they get right are so good (Felix dress, winter Stella jumper, long harems etc) that I can’t resist going back to them.

ilovecherries · 03/04/2018 17:00

I think that's where I am, Laska. The things that are right are just so perfect for me, that I'm prepared to kiss a few frogs to get them. For me, that includes stuff like the Amies, Felix dresses, nana jumper, Vickie jumper, Marina and Santana skirts, Winona trousers, raw edge linen tops etc. I don't have anything from Hush that 'will do' and I do have other things in my wardrobe that I feel like that about. Anything I feel 'nah' about is back straight away. What size did you get in the denim skirt? I'm fretting that mine may be on the big side - have only lost a pound since I bought it two weeks ago, but my shape seems to have changed and it's sliding about a bit.

Bloomed · 03/04/2018 17:56

Random question, I missed out on the short frill skirts at Christmas. One was a striped devore velvet and the other had stars. I'm hoping to pick one up second hand but not sure on sizing. Were they true to size? Did anyone get one and if so did you rate it?

clownfaces · 03/04/2018 17:59

Thank you Luckylollies

SoyYo · 03/04/2018 18:25

Bloomed I'm a 12 and bought the starry one, it was lovely fabric and a generous 12. Unfortunately it was sooo short even at 5 3 1/2" tall way too mini for me so I returned mine as I wouldn't have felt comfortable with such a short skirt. But really lovely otherwise. If you like proper minis go for it!

SoyYo · 03/04/2018 18:28

Forgot to add, same with the frilled style. Generous 12 so if you're on the small side size down. Again way too short I hesitate to say young but on me it was too young and I returned.
Had they been just above knee length I would have kept.
Hope this helps you

Bloomed · 03/04/2018 18:35

Thanks SoYo ! I am very short so it might work with thick tights. First I need to find one. It reminded me of a Marant skirt I couldn't afford.

miffy2 · 03/04/2018 21:49

Ladies, my 16-y-o son has fallen in love with my Ivy Nana jumper! He commented on it yesterday when I had it on, said how much he loved both the colour and the feel of it... and then this evening asked if he could wear it out to meet his friends. How cute is that?! The sleeves are a little short on him, and although part of me is scared stiff that something will happen it, how could I refuse him?

Now of course I am scouring the internet to try and find another one for him. So...if anyone out there is selling one please let me know!
