Tell me it's going to be ok...

I go to a nurse prescriber in Bolton, started last year and it's been the best £200 I have spent.

DH doesn't know but has never asked.

I just look fresher with Botox, not sure I'll ever go down the filler route:

Polly99 · 24/02/2018 22:32

I’ve got a consultation in early March for tear trough treatment and Botox. I’m 42 and the top half of my face needs sorting (it’s not that bad; I don’t look 42 but I do look tired when I am not!). Am a bit worried though because I called the clinic and asked for a consult with a doctor and it looks like they’ve booked me in with a nurse. Admittedly the nurse will be specialist but it is v expensive and I am nervous about not seeing a doctor. Has anyone else had this sort of thing with a nurse?

TossDaily · 24/02/2018 23:15

I had a nurse today. She was brilliant.

Could you recommend who you used in Bolton littlewally ? I’d love some help in the wrinkle department but the other thread about a droopy eye is making me have second thoughts!

Dontknowwhattodoknowok · 25/02/2018 20:40

Hijacking the thread a bit- has anyone had filler for nasiolabial folds? (The smile lines from nose to mouth) I’m really keen to try and get some booked but bit worried!

zippyswife · 25/02/2018 21:41

Dontknow I think that’s what I need too.

TossDaily · 26/02/2018 06:55

It's started to work...

Great! So are there no immediate effects? Is it a gradual change?

I’ve been trying to find somewhere local- I don’t know whether the reviews on websites are genuine or not. I’ve been looking on the save face website to find somewhere. I really want a trusted highly recommended doctor carrying this out.

lovemylover · 26/02/2018 08:27

zippyswife dont bother taking any notice of who saves face recommends i have had a disaster with my botox, she was registered with them, i ended up with 2 black eyes, very badly bruised nose and an almost closed eye still half closed since December,,i reported to save face and they said they would get back to me, nothing,
Also someone else had a disaster with fillers, with a save face registered person, a nurse, they heard nothing either
Find someone who is recommended to you, and ask for their history in these procedures

zippyswife · 26/02/2018 09:22

lovemylover thank you for that. I’ll ditch that idea then. That must have been awful. Is it all ok now? No-one I know has fillers/Botox or at least no-one I know admits to doing it! I will really struggle to get a personal recommendation.

I could go on bananas Harley st recommendation but I would rather something more affordable so that I can maintain the cost of it.

lovemylover · 26/02/2018 12:41

I have just rung Save face again as i was gettibg nowhee with emails, they say these things do happen and to be careful of having botox in future as it might happen again,
I have had botox before and this never happened,
They took her side, but i am taking it further on the advice of trading standards
No one i spoke to has ever seen anything like this, and save face say they dont recommend giving refunds,
The practioners excue was it happened because im thin/ yell me who has a fat nose,?
I am sure you will be fine just reseach carefully

lovemylover · 26/02/2018 12:42

Forgot to say ,the bruising has gone but eye still half closed, very embarrasing

WhatwouldLyndaSnelldo · 26/02/2018 13:09

I can't work out how Botox can work on crows feet without giving a chipmunk effect when you smile.

bananafish81 · 26/02/2018 16:17

I can't work out how Botox can work on crows feet without giving a chipmunk effect when you smile.

It just smooths the deeper wrinkles out into finer lines

Friends who I've told have been astonished when I've told them I had botox done around my crow's feet

I still have full facial expressions, but the wrinkles aren't so deep at rest

TossDaily · 26/02/2018 16:43

No chipmunking here yet.

Just less deep wrinkles. I do look fresher. I'm pleased, so far.

Really sorry for the pp who's had such a bad time. That should never have happened.

Dontknow I’ve had a filler two or three times in my nose to mouth lines. It’s fine-the line is filled immediately and lasts for about a year to 18 months. The woman I go prefers to put fillers in my cheeks to give me more volume in my face which she says smooths out the nose to mouth lines anyway. I get what she means and love filler in my cheeks (I’ve got a long, thin face so love the effect I get from cheek fillers) but filler in my nose to mouth lines fills these lines more effectively I think.

zippyswife · 26/02/2018 18:20

wellhello I’m looking for someone to do this in the SE. I don’t suppose you can recommend in that area?

Wellhellothere1 · 27/02/2018 06:32

Sorry I'm in Scotland so can't help zippy

FrannySalinger · 27/02/2018 06:45

Does anyone have recommendations for a practitioner in Bath or Bristol?

Serendipitystardust · 27/02/2018 10:26

Bumping for Franny as I'd also like a recommendation for someone in the Bristol/Bath area.

MozzchopsThirty · 27/02/2018 11:02

I can recommend a cardiff practitioner if that's not too far??

Dontknowwhattodoknowok · 27/02/2018 21:56

Thanks @wellhellothere1

I’m trying to lose weight so will keep this as my end treat- I don’t want to fill my cheeks as think my face is already round enough so just want to fill these lines! Out of interest how many ml did they use for the filler?

lovemylover · 07/03/2018 21:11

You can check on BACN,[british association of cosmetic nurses] for a registered practioner in your area
Read," wwyd, if this happened to you"
I was left looking as if i had been punched in the face, and it turns out im not the only one this has happened to by this woman, be careful
