Are LK Bennett shoes worth the price?

Starting a new job in about a month or so and desperately need some decent new shoes.

The nicest ones I seem to have found are these LK Bennett ones - www.houseoffraser.co.uk/shoes-and-boots/lkbennett-floret-closed-courts/d759162.pd?ef_id=WjGChwAAASr@DxiK:20180222185311:s
The only issue is the £195 price tag. They're more expensive than any shoes I'd normally buy, but I'm also aware of the fact that I'll be wearing them for 12 hours a day. Has anyone had experience with these shoes or other LK Bennett ones - are they comfortable enough for work and would they last me a few years?

The other options I've been looking at are a Kurt Geiger pair (£100), Dune Aurora (£70), Stuart Weitzman (around £300). Stuart Weitzman seem to have good reviews but a little too pricey for me, I haven't seen much written about the other two.

Otherwise if anyone would like to suggest some other shoes I'd be grateful to hear those too! My only criteria are black suede court shoes, heel between 3-4 inches. For some reason I prefer the soles to be cream rather than black. Decent quality (not New Look or Primark!) and comfy enough to wear all day, but not going to break the bank - I'd say my limit is around £200, assuming they'd last a while.

My feet and I thank you all in advance! Grin

I found the one pair of shoes I bought from there dreadfully uncomfortable but I have quite wide feet so if yours are narrow they may work well

NataliaOsipova · 22/02/2018 19:19

I don't think LK Bennett shoes are very good quality. Had several pairs where the heels have broken, soles come off etc after limited wear. I'd wait for the sale!

PurpleDaisies · 22/02/2018 19:21

They’re nice but not £200 nice. I’ve had them in the sale and they do last well but not really more than Dune/Hobbs/Clarks etc.

Northernmum100 · 22/02/2018 19:32

I have two pairs and don't think they are any more comfortable than any other shoes. This may not go well but I have a pair of court shoes from M&S Insolia and they are comfortable enough for a long day, more so than the LK Bennetts.

OublietteBravo · 22/02/2018 19:32

How about Clarks?

these?

OublietteBravo · 22/02/2018 19:34

Or these?

0ccamsRazor · 22/02/2018 19:36

I love my Stuart Weitzman shoes, so very comfortable and exellent quality. I like the fact that the sole is leather and feels more hard wearing than the 'normal' shoe soles.

My L K B's are lovely but really only worn for occasions such as evenings out rather than all day wear.

FogCutter · 22/02/2018 19:36

I find LK Bennett stuff really overpriced for what it is. I bought a dress in the sale for £70 reduced from £225. It is a plain black practical work dress, nice but not worth £225! I have similar quality dresses from M&S Autograph that cost £50.

My LK Bennett she's are Ok butch Clarks one's are way more comfortable, just as stylish and 1/4 of the price of the LK Bennett ones.

welshmist · 22/02/2018 19:40

I like Nine West for comfort and style.

Hillingdon · 22/02/2018 19:40

Think LK Bennett are 20% off this weekend and 25% off shoes if that helps your decision making

Hillingdon · 22/02/2018 19:42

Online only I think....

issy196 · 22/02/2018 19:42

Glad I asked as the advice here seems to be a lot different than what I've read online!

Forgot to mention I can get a 30% discount which would bring them down to around £135 if my maths is correct. I do have very narrow feet and find most shoes are too wide for me so willing to pay a little more for shoes that will actually fit me.

That said, I do quite like those Clarks ones.

Agree with welshmist Nine West are good for simple work shoes

Thiscantreallybehappening · 22/02/2018 19:45

I have tried on a few pairs of LK Bennett shoes and they have all been really uncomfortable. They were all in the sale and one pair was absolutely gorgeous but I have wide feet with a high instep and they just didn't work for me. I think if you have a slim or average foot they could look lovely. I also got the impression that they weren't very hard wearing. I would have used them more for occasion shoes and not for everyday work shoes.

JustaBasicBitch · 22/02/2018 19:45

I second the Clark's ones- I buy a pair of the 1st suggestion in patent about once every 9 months and live in them!

welshmist · 22/02/2018 19:46

When I had to go back to work after a five year break, I had nothing to wear that was smart. So I went onto e bay looking for used shoes, worn once for a wedding etc..... Had some real designer bargains.

TakeThatFuckingDressOffNow · 22/02/2018 19:47

Agree with Layla - not very comfortable and overpriced!

welshmist · 22/02/2018 19:47

Just remembered I binned a pair of LK Bennett courts I bought wore them three times and was crippled. Have bought Clarks for a couple of weddings where I knew I would be standing for hours, they were bliss with that secret padding inside.

user1466690252 · 22/02/2018 19:49

I user to work for them for many years. My feet are shredded from L K Bennett shoes. save your money

issy196 · 22/02/2018 19:54

Thanks all for the advice - think I'm definitely going to save myself some money and buy a cheaper pair.

Clarks ones look good, never considered looking in there before as always reminded me of the times my mum would drag me off shopping for school shoes and the place would be full of elderly ladies!

Ive got a lot of work shoes from Clarks. They do some really nice ones now.

SarahSea1 · 22/02/2018 19:56

Narrow feet too and like the posters above, find LKB shoes and boots very uncomfortable. I certainly wouldn't bother for a classic black court as there are plenty of other options on the high street. If you're going to be on your feet for the majority of the 12 hours, I'd prioritise comfort - does it have to be a court? I find they often slip at the back, especially when worn with opaques.

Whisperquietly · 22/02/2018 19:59

No! I bought a pair of pumps which wore down very significantly on the heal after 3 days. They seemed to be made of leather and cardboard.

I tried to take them back and the shop refused as they said it was “fair wear and tear”! After 3 days!

I was so angry I spoke to the manager and even wrote to the head office. They also refused a refund.

I have never bought another pair of LK Benet shoes. Avoid!

IllHaveALargeGlassOfRed · 22/02/2018 20:00

I'm known as the office shoe queen and I'd recommend Clark's - I liked those first ones linked. Every pair I've bought are Super comfy and surprisingly stylish!

I might get those ones myself....

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 22/02/2018 20:03

Different point of view - I wear LKB shoes at work pretty much every day and find them very comfortable. I'm terrible at walking in heels and have slightly flat feet and LKB heels work for me!
