I'd really like a moisturiser which fits the following criteria:

  • fragrance free
  • properly hydrating without being greasy
  • makes skin feel comforted & look a bit more glowy.

I'd also like it to be cruelty free if possible. I don't want much

If your moisturiser does this, please tell me which one you use! Thank you!

Only ever used two moisturisers I really rated: Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (£££) and Body Shop Vitamin E Cream (Intense version, now I am ancient).

Totally absorbs.
I have normal/dry skin and lm 46,

Burt's Bees intense hydration day lotion. I love it. But it has no spf - i wear a tinted moisturiser with spf over it so not a problem. Mind you it is scented but they're good generally for sensitive skin

piratequeenio · 16/02/2018 17:38

Nivea soft.

Holy grail. Cheap as chips - my skin glows - I'm 50.

MrsMeow · 16/02/2018 17:39

Aveeno. The one with the blue lid. No need to spend £££.

Bliss Fabulous Drench n Quench

DuncanDonut · 16/02/2018 18:01

I'd recommend using a serum with Hyaluronic acid, before your moisturiser. The orange 'dragons blood' one by Nip&Fab improved my skin immediately by approximately a billion percent!

StripeyPig · 16/02/2018 18:06

Estee Lauder Verite

lilydaisyrose · 16/02/2018 18:08

Second Nivea Soft!

piratequeenio · 16/02/2018 18:09

It also beat some v expensive creams in numerous tests.

ohbitchplease · 16/02/2018 18:27

Aveeno blue lid here too.

MulhuddartDrive · 16/02/2018 18:33

Balance me radiance oil. It's amazing.

Gingertam · 16/02/2018 18:40

I really like Kiehl's Ultra Facial cream. Works for my dry skin - not greasy.

AgeingArtemis · 16/02/2018 19:41

If I'm feeling flush I use La Roche Posay Effaclar H (Suddenly gone up to 16 quid when it used to be 9 or 10!!! Need to stock up when I go to france....) I have combo skin that is in dry in places but with large oily pores in others, and this really helps to even everything out and give me normal even glowy skin. Not remotely greasy.

When budget is tighter I use Simply Pure (superdrug own brand) Hydrating serum which is a whopping 2.99. It's not as amazing, but it is miles better with my skin than other moisturisers I've tried.

Sundayafternoon · 16/02/2018 19:55

By day - Bobbi Brown hydrating cream , also the eye cream is really good.
By night - korres wild rose Cream or M&S ultimate sleep cream.

I've tried them all and these are winners :)

DiploCat1 · 16/02/2018 20:32

Another vote for the elemis pro-collagen day and night version. I would also recommend a facial oil layered underneath at night, elemis do good ones too. I live in hot country almost always need air con on and only moisturiser that's stopped my skin being dry/dehydrated.

ihatethecold · 16/02/2018 20:47

I love the M and S night cream.

megletthesecond · 16/02/2018 20:50

Lush Shangri La nearly fits all your criteria. Although it is a bit oily, but that's not a bad thing in winter.

PARunnerGirl · 16/02/2018 20:57

I have very dry skin. It will easily flake around my nose and feels like it’s going to split when I first get out the shower!

My moisturiser is Avene Rich compensating Creme and I LOVE it.

At night I use a Korean foaming cleanser that I love because it isn’t drying, Belif Hungarian water essence, a serum or oil (I’m not too loyal with this and have a few I like ) and then the Avene moisturiser.

Once a week exfoliate with Kiehl’s polishing microdermabrasion product (before essence). Twice a week the La Neige water sleeping mask (after Avene). Once a week sheet mask (before Avene).

It seems like a faff but it does keep my skin lovely and glowing. For me, it definitely about layering moisture with different products.

halfwitpicker · 16/02/2018 20:57

Blue pot Nivea

BuffyFan · 16/02/2018 21:02

I used Body Shop Aloe Vera range. The day cream is nice and light, the night cream is heavier and I don't like it as much.

CiderGlider · 16/02/2018 21:13

Nivea soft for night and non makeup days and body shop vitamin e for all other times. 41 and shop assistant recently thought I was late 20’s!

OfficerGrant · 16/02/2018 21:18

Superdrug optimum range. Pink packet. Best face cream I've ever used. Finally found my holy grail. Looked it up on their website. Dissappeared. Tweeted them asking if it's just out of stock. Nope Angry it's been discontinued. Not a happy camper about that!
