My I nominated fecking rainbows. Jaunty children’s TV presenter territory.

Trainers with everything. Trainers with hearts and sparkles. As above.

Retina searing brights. You’ll be bored with them in a fortnight unless Christina Hamilton is your go to look.

Cold shoulder tops. I don’t understand them.

Frankiewears · 01/02/2018 10:41

Also side stripe trousers- grab your whistle 1970s PE teacher.

OuchBollocks · 01/02/2018 10:41

Tbh my current style is 'acessorised by baby snot and drool' so rainbows seem ok in comparison.

Frankiewears · 01/02/2018 10:42

Cold shoulder tops do need to piss right off.

MonaTheMoaner · 01/02/2018 10:44

Wide legged ankle grazing trousers, bright or neon clothes, ruffles, fluted sleeves.

hopethisworks · 01/02/2018 10:46

That photo made me snort my coffee out Frankie!
Not a trend as such but seeing all the Cool Young Things in their trendy 90's kit makes me feel nostalgic for when I wore it myself. And I always want to approach those wearing Nirvana/Guns n Roses etc tshirts and demand they name at least 5 songs or they don't deserve to wear them. God I'm feeling bitter at getting old today!

CaptainWarbeck · 01/02/2018 10:46

Yes. Who actually wants a cold shoulder. Sounds awful.

CaptainWarbeck · 01/02/2018 10:46

I'm aware this comment makes me sound about 40. I'm in my 20s.

Frankiewears · 01/02/2018 10:47

Ooh! Also those fringe/tassel earrings that even Pat Butcher would consider ‘a bit much’.

Celticlassie · 01/02/2018 10:49

These cropped, wide legged culotte things. I love them on the girls I teach but they would look DREADFUL on me.

Frankiewears · 01/02/2018 10:50

Yes to wide leg ankle swingers- also known as ‘jack-ups’ especially if they have the wanky raggy hems and are denim.

It flatters NO ONE.

OP posts:
NorthernLightsAlways · 01/02/2018 10:53

yes - cropped culottes are the devil's work - as are balloon sleeves on dresses, who thought that would be flattering? And yes to the cold shoulder...

I would like to add jumpers that cutaway at the back (not talking a scoop back, I mean those ones that are like reverse cardies with a bigger gap at the bottom) - leaving an exposed triange of t-shirt etc - how is that remotely attractive?

myusernamewastaken · 01/02/2018 11:20

Those hideous jumpers with a built in choker neckline...almost as bad as tacky cold shoulder tops....

CaptainWarbeck · 01/02/2018 11:42

Chokers full stop. I think they're weird.

scampiesandchips · 01/02/2018 12:07

Mom / boyfriend jeans. Boak.

Curtain tassel earrings

polyhymnia · 01/02/2018 12:11

Awful cold shoulders and fluted sleeves.

Estellanpip · 01/02/2018 12:12

Stupid sleeves! Big billowy, ruffly sleeves, ruched sleeves with cords dangling down, flowing wizard sleeves. When you try and put a jacket on top, it all gets pushed up. Annoying.
Flowers on everything.
Bomber jackets that have that unfortunate looking gathering down the back.

magicstar1 · 01/02/2018 12:17

Those trousers that are too short with ruffles.

Do any of you remember a thread from about a year ago, where the OP suspected her husband of having an affair. She described the OW as wearing those trousers, and got accused of being a troll as nobody would possible wear them. Now they're everywhere!

teta · 01/02/2018 12:24

Jumpers with hearts/stars/rainbows or words on the front. Looked cute on my Dd aged 5 .....not on me at 50ish. I do like a bit of tasteful colour-blocking or rainbow on my jumper sleeves though. And sorry I’m also partial to sparkles on my blue or black trainers. But they’re Fitflop! Not a cool or in brand at all, but just so comfy.
Love the new brights and have ordered some Lilac trainers as apparently this is the new Pantone colour. Will add some of these colours as accessories to my staples of blue, white, grey for summer.

Frankiewears · 01/02/2018 12:24

I haven’t come across cropped ruffle trousers. Sound hideous-off to google them.

There was a similar thread on here last week.

Cold shoulder
Embroidery
Ripped jeans at the knees
Pink with red
Any surgical procedures such as lips, gigantic arse etc

PorklessPie · 01/02/2018 13:07

Definitely cold shoulder tops, I've even seen children wearing them.

SoFancy · 01/02/2018 13:54

'Bardot' tops and dresses.

Not for the broad of shoulder and big of breast among us. Or for us wh olive in the cold UK when you want a bit of material on your shoulders for warmth

Unfortunately they're everywhere.
