What I’m wearing today

When I first came across the S&B board, this was my favourite kind of thread, so I wanted to start a new one.

Today was a work day, so I am wearing:
The “Huxley” cable jumper from Jack Wills, in emerald.
Blue high waisted skinny jeans,
Tan imperial explorers from Fairfax & Favor,
Navy ariat fleece & my favourite pony skin belt that’s a light tan cow print.
Bare face; pony tail.

I love a denim pencil skirt. i missed out on the ultimate stonewashed, distressed denim skirt (I think it was blank nyc) and still kicking myself. I wear them with slouchy knits or shirts with the sleeves rolled.

Morning spent in kick boxing uniform, changed into...

Paul Costello fudge and black merino jumper dress,

DKNY chocolate brown leather blazer,

Stuart Weitzman chocolate brown suede heels,

Cotton fudge and black cat print scarf,

Lavante chocolate brown merino tights,

Smokey quartz and silver pendant and earing set.

Warm is the main influence for ootd.

@Elledorado I hate it when that happens! I think of that item for days afterwards imagining all the different ways I d wear it 😩

I ve spilt food all over myself because it seems I am still unable to adult at times so a quick change.

Thank you that’s so kind of you to say. I don’t think I have time to dedicate to the blog atm. With four kids, one of which has just been diagnosed with high functioning Asperger Syndrome, autism and dyspraxia and a baby that is a premie, a husband, house renovation and trying to get a business idea of the ground, I just about manage to get myself dressed. I do have an insta which I ve started at the same time as I ve joined this thread, but that’s just to keep me motivated to not go back to sweats. As I ve said before, after the baby I lived in sweats and cried a lot and felt like I was crumbling when I had to be strong for other kids who needed me too, this helped me get back to myself. Just by getting dressed in the morning I feel ready to face the day. And every day is challenging right now. Never underestimate the power of clothes 😁 I am really enjoying rediscovering my wardrobe and you guys have been lovely and supportive. Thank you

Agree with everything you’ve said there. Getting dressed is something that helped me after ds was born. Made me feel more like me. It’s become an event in our house. “What shall Mummy wear today?” I ask ds ever morning. He just stares because he’s only 5 months. “What’s that?” I ask “clothes...? That’s not a helpful answer is it...?!” Same dialogue every morning. Then I choose an outfit and show it to him. And he smiles. although he smiles at everything

Clothes have helped me through some tough times. Never to be underestimated!

I sort of wish I lived in a cold climate as it's hot here and really hot weather clothes are so boring .... ie shall I wear a vest/tshirt + skirt or a boho dress? Repeat x 1million

Last week was from the depths of hell so I'm writing it off. I barely had the motivation to get out of bed, never mind a decent outfit.
Picking myself up now though.

The "beast from the east" has been a bit of a damp squib here, but I'm still dressed for bad weather!

Today I'm wearing:
A light grey cashmere polo neck from M&S;
A brown/black/charcoal houndstooth skirt from Jack Wills;
Walnut Galway boots by Dubarry with leopard boot liners;

The usual thermal tights and jacket etc, with my Hunter backpack to keep my laptop and notes perfectly dry. Will post a pic when I get home.

Today I delved into super warm clothing,

Celt&co thick cream cowl neck cable knit wool jumper,

M&S fleece lined heatgen long cream top under the jumper.

DKNY brown leather pencil skirt,

Olive green thermal tights,

Olive green thick cashmere wrap,

Richard Drapper thick sheepskin knee high boots,

Big fluffy brown sheepskin Russian hat,

DKNY catseye sunnies.

Nice and toasty when out and about today

Iris, em & Elle - completely agree - clothes should never be underestimated. They can completely change everything. I remember years ago working in a team with a very smart (in every way) woman who always dressed up even when she was working from home (whereas I tended to slob about in sweats in my home office). Her rationale? 'If you look like a slob, you'll work like a slob'. I tried it and she was right!

Will - LOVE that jacket! And the boots. I have so few nice shoes/boots because I have super wide (but skinny) feet. I live in Docs (boots, brogues, loafers) and funky trainers. I dream of owning a nice pair of heels.

crazy - look forward to photo later. Sorry last week was horrid, but glad this week is better.

I will try to contribute on Wednesdays (day off) and weekends, as my work attire is so stuffy and dreary it depresses me.

Heattech is my friend today. Although I am from Russia so this is nothing 😁

Cold and sunny here today. So bright. Not a cloud in the sky.

I’m off to the shops with ds this morning - may walk it (30 minute walk there) so need to wrap up warm.

Going with:

Navy skinnies - M&S (these ones “super skinny mid rise” are the best I’ve ever tried. £25 a pair and fit amazingly well.)
Pale wash denim shirt - primark I think - years old this one and a favourite
Yellow jumper - oasis (shirt cuffs have been folded over the jumper and collar is out)
Thermal socks - some snowboarding brand - but I wear them for riding
Fatface parka

Boots. If we walk I’ll wear my dubarrys. If we drive a pair of tan boots from Russell and Bromley which are toasty warm.

Cashmere fingerless gloves - hush.
Ugg ear muffs.
