When I first came across the S&B board, this was my favourite kind of thread, so I wanted to start a new one.

Today was a work day, so I am wearing:
The “Huxley” cable jumper from Jack Wills, in emerald.
Blue high waisted skinny jeans,
Tan imperial explorers from Fairfax & Favor,
Navy ariat fleece & my favourite pony skin belt that’s a light tan cow print.
Bare face; pony tail.

Black skinnies - M&S
Coral long line cami - primark
Pale blue chambray shirt - primark I think. Collar is popped up.
Tan ankle boots - next
Sunglasses (it’s freezing cold here but bright and sunny and I need these for seeing whilst driving) - raybans aviators

Hair is washed and rough dried but thrown up in a messy bun.

I’m heading to my dr today. Have had a tough January. Ds is 4 months. I’m on mat leave. He is teething grouchy not sleeping and it’s taken it’s toll on me. I’m stressed anxious not sleeping etc. But I’m determined not to give in to those feelings. I need some sort of help but don’t want medication. Making myself feel smarter is a huge boost to my mental health. I may throw a hat into the mix today too. I have a wide brimmed fedora which makes me feel fabulous.

Tisfortired · 07/02/2018 07:56

'Vintage' (ie had in my wardrobe for about 15 years! 😳) blue and white striped long sleeved Topshop top.

dinosaursandtea · 07/02/2018 08:04

Grey chino-style trousers - John Lewis
Clingy black t-shirt - Jaeger
Trainers - Nike

No makeup because my skin looks really good, just tinted lipbalm

IrisApfelRocks · 07/02/2018 08:09

@ememem84 don't want to derail this thread but just wanted to send you love. I am going through the same thing and making a conscious effort to get dressed in the morning really helped me. I was considering going to gp for some pills at some point too, I cried a lot and wasn't coping. There are days where I still feel like that, there is no magic solution. Having kids is hard and no matter how much we love them it doesn't change the fact that they turn your whole world upside down. Hope everything goes well today

ememem84 · 07/02/2018 09:22

iris thank you xx it is tough. Tougher than I imagined. I am adamant but I don’t want pills. Not that there’s any shame in them. I just don’t want them. I want advice to help me cope without.

In the mean time lovely outfits. Grin

VileyRose · 07/02/2018 09:34

Em pills changed my life (and I dont usually take any medication) they got me out of postnatal anxiety really quickly. If it's a chemical imbalance then not much will work as well.

@ememem84 Sending you a hug, I suffered after the birth of my second child 20 years ago. Medication for 6 months really helped me and I've never suffered since x

I'm wearing
Red herring navy blue jersey dress
Jasper Conran white pumps

AnaViaSalamanca · 07/02/2018 16:58

Red banana republic trousers
big grey roll neck jumper from jigsaw
silver metallic acne jensen boots (I am so regretting buying these so just trying to wear them as much as possible and then chuck them!)

ememem84 · 07/02/2018 19:22

thank you to all who send supportive words. Smile

i went to gp no pills. she doesn't think i need them. so we agree on that. i have been "prescribed" exercise, outdoors, healthy eating, less caffeine, less alcohol, more chill time.

i had issues with my knuckles and wrist joints too which i had put down to the after effects of baby. but she seems to think not. maybe something to do with an underlying virus (i had glandular fever a few years ago and when I'm stressed this sometimes flares up), and maybe a vitamin deficienty and maybe inflammatory arthritis. she did bloods and X-rays. so well see.

currently staring at wardrobe trying to figure out tomorrows outfit.

Clarks Chelsea boots in black
Very old BHS black cardi

Loads of silver jewellery because I always do.

ememem84 · 08/02/2018 08:37

@notmybag I bought fleece lined tights in new look a few years ago. £7 I think. Best things ever. They are ridiculously warm.

Today’s outfit - black skinnies (M&S) tan knee high boots (monsoon) white cami (oasis), fox hunt print blouse (joules) parka (fat face) sunglasses (raybans aviators).

crazyspaniellady · 08/02/2018 08:45

@notmybag I buy mine in primark, they’re fleece lined, super cosy! I’ve tried ones from M&S but the primark ones are just as good and half the price.

Today I’m wearing the “springbourne” dress from Jack Wills, another newbie that just makes me feel fab! I’ve got a grey cable knit cardigan on too, that’s also from Jack Wills.
Black tights and black velvet flats from Miss KG that were £14 in the sale, I couldn’t say no! If I’ve time before leaving for work I’ll try and take a picture.

ememem84 I hope that you can feel better soon, maybe some valerian tea for calm and sleep? Those teething days are deadly for the mind and body of the mother Flowers
