ive got really curly hair. if i knew how to put a pic up i would.

tigi · 25/04/2007 22:50

Reading this intently! I have curly hair. Straightened it once at salon, and my kids ran away crying - never again!
Looked like a pea head too!
I have a scrap of a fringe bit, and it's then all long nearly on my shoulder with more layers at back, but not a bob - i was too chicken! Mine is spirally and people tell me it's nice.
Years ago i had a bob, with short layers, and looking back now, it looks like a motorbike helmet! sad but true!
so, for me it's either long curly or short curly, thats it! I think it looks better longer. The curls are nicer. I use the frizz ease mouse, and a diff kind (can't remember- finish balm thingy on it)

no, go for it.
key thing is to go quite blunt, with maybe just a bit of shaping. anything with too many layers will give you that helmet head/microphone head thing going on which is Not Good

also around the sides of your face they can cut a few slightly shorter layers to frame your face a bit (but not a fringe obv) - that works well. otherwise with a really blunt cut it can be a bit harsh and draggy around your face

and you don't need me to tell you that if they cut it actually at your jawline the lack of weight of hair will make it bounce up and look much shorter. So tell her you want it to curl up to your jawline so cut it a good inch or so longer

good luck!

got them thanks - that is the sort of thing, right just ahve to hold my nerve now! when straight my hair currenly comes to the top of my brastrap on my back, so its got long again and doesn't curl well.

I find when it gets too long the weight of the hair sort of drags it straight at the scalp and then goes curlier further down, which isn't so good really. so I end up tying it back a lot when it is too long

keeping it shorter has always made it a bit sort of bouncier and better for me

katzg · 26/04/2007 12:23

thanks

as an aside love the blog!
