Kelly1978 · 23/04/2007 22:42

oh god it's hideous, get rid of it!

It's a bit hard to tell with the sunnies on, but I think you made need a bit more volume than natalie to balance your face shape, so it could work with more curls, like you said. If you get lots of layers put in, you would avoid the triangular effect. Hang on I saw another piccie somewhere.

katzg · 23/04/2007 22:45

pics are good, need to take something with me when i go so i can say i want this please!!!!

can't find the one I saw earlier, but try looking for pics of meg ryan, like here . I think you could do soemthing like that but assymmetrical, and if you don't go too short, you wont get the triangular effect. I'd def get layers to help avoid that plus it is then so versatile, you can wear it tousled, sleek and straight, or flicked out.

hoolagirl · 23/04/2007 23:23

Please bear in mind your face shape.
I have a round face shape and curly hair.
My hair needs to be past my chin at the front or I look like I have a football for a face.

Dimpled · 23/04/2007 23:49

yes

katzg · 24/04/2007 08:49

thanks again, i think i want a cross between the natalie and the meg!! will have to talk to hair dresser and see if he understands and then replies you will look like a bush!

Hiya Katz,

I've had my hair cut how you describe - shorter at the back, longer at the front, and my hair is curly too. If your hair is naturally curly it's easy enough to style, I've got some Tigi Curls Rock stuff I put on it and that's it (don't own hair dryer, straighteners etc).

I'll be seeing you at the Mile for Maude walk in a couple of weeks, so if you can wait until then you can see what you think!

katzg · 24/04/2007 10:38

thanks MrsW - i have my appointment booked for the sat before the mile for Maude! so will be asking for hints and tips on the whole curly short hair front!

You know you want to be careful asking for advice on the whole 'short curly hair' thing

norkmaiden · 24/04/2007 16:25

Annimac is right on the hairdo name - I have ringletty hair and my cut was v v short (ie nothing) at the back but round my face at the very front (does that make sense?!). I think the trick is to have it very choppy, layered, so that it's easily messed up with a bit of curling product - and then you truly can scrunch it up and leave it. I like the frizz ease stuff, esp the spray in styler (dream curls or something - leaves hair soft rather than scrunchy). I'd post a pic, but am too chicken!

Hope you get a cut you like anyway

katzg · 24/04/2007 16:30

i'd love a pic - any chance you would email me one? or anyone else with fab short curly hair?

I saw someone with what you are describing today up the school, I was so tempted to ask her if I could take a pic! She had curls like meg ryan, but a graduated bob like you want. It was cropped quite short at the back of her next, and about jaw length at the front. It looked nice!

docket · 24/04/2007 16:39

softer bob yes but a really asymetric one needs straight hair i think.

I have some very bad memories of things hairdressers did in the 80s along these lines. shudder

MrsWednesday · 24/04/2007 17:22

I'll see if I can get DH to take a picture Katz so I can email it to you.

The woman who cuts my hair did this fancy thing, twisting the hair and cuttting into it lightly, to take some weight out of it without making it look too triangular. I wanted layers but she said I'd end up with a mushroom-shaped hair style.
