I’ve just returned a 12 to All Saints. I guess it’ll show online in a couple of days, if anyone is looking for one.

zippyswife · 08/01/2018 14:13

Just to let you know- Assuming the bales is similar to other all saints jackets they really do give. I bought a 10 instead of an 8 in the balfern (basically I went against the sales assistants advice) and now it just looks too big on me even though I’d say I’m a 10-12.

NewYearNiki · 08/01/2018 14:50

What do we think of this one?

Thanks roderick and zippy bit worried it might stretch too much but love it! I listed after the Balfern for a long time, only went for bales due to the offer-they are all beautiful though.

Really like the Cole niki the cream in particular, I’m not too sure about the sleeves though? Defo worth ordering to try on though!

zippyswife · 08/01/2018 16:22

The Cole is lovely Niki!

Buster mine stretched-more than I imagined it would (I’ve put on weight and it still seems too big for me now). I wish I’d have listened to the sales assistant. Yours looks like it fits you beautifully. It’s hard to say how much it would stretch. I don’t have the bales so can’t say for certain!

miffy2 · 08/01/2018 17:22

Well flip it, I’ve gone and bought one. Size 12 from JL. I’m nearer a 14 so I’m hoping it’s either awful enough to send back or lovely enough to spur me on to lose a bit more weight. I’m in Ireland so I used a forwarding service and should have it in a week or so. Grin

thedayismine · 08/01/2018 21:46

Got mine today but have only managed to try it on very quickly .
Initial impressions are very good though - super soft and miffy I was worried 12 would be too small but it fits really well - perfect on my small shoulders .
It won't look great done up but I never wear my other biker done up so not too worried . (Also starting low carbing to shed some blubber today !)
Hoping I can wear it to an upcoming party over a dress .. so will try that look tomorrow

OP - thanks so much for the thread.
I have so enjoyed reading about everyone else's Bales love
Buster wish I looked as good as you in mine .

BusterTheBulldog · 08/01/2018 23:39

I bet it will look lovely over party dress theday it’s super versatile!

NewYearNiki · 08/01/2018 23:50

I dont know if Id need an 8 or a 10.

There is an All Saints in my local department store. I may try some things on, I have a major birthday this year and feel like treating myself.

Can anyone give me any inspiration as to what kind of clothes go with a leather jacket.

Asitgoes · 09/01/2018 09:23

Love the feel of the leather but worried about how much it'll grow. I got a size 12, fits great (perfect width across shoulders) but have approx 1.5 stone to lose.
Concerned that the jacket will end up a size 14 equivalent and hopefully I will eventually be more like an actual 12 (or optimistically a 10/12 but with fairly big boobs).
Could anyone advise? TIA

NewYearNiki · 09/01/2018 10:11

Could anyone advise? TIA

Not really. Might sound unhelpful but you really shouldn't have bought one until you lost the weight.

I lost weight last year: about a stone and a half and my original clothes are hanging off me. Everything from my pajamas and bras to my coats are too big. I bought new jeans in the summer and then lost more weight and even they dont fit now.

Id see about returning it if you are going to lose weight for sure because a stone and a half will make your clothes too big on you and it is an expensive mistake to make.

Asitgoes · 09/01/2018 10:16

Thanks NewYear. I think i knew that was the answer, but the price was so good and the jacket so lovely I was trying to convince myself otherwise!

NewYearNiki · 09/01/2018 10:25

@Asitgoes it's a shame isnt it. When it is such a good bargain. The weightloss may well happen slowly but then again the jacket will only fit for a few months if everything goes to plan.

PNGirl · 09/01/2018 10:35

While I understand the fear of the jacket stretching/wearer shrinking, I did get the larger of my 2 sizes 2 years ago and I use mine for wearing over layers. For example, today I'm wearing a long-sleeved top, a checked shirt, and then the jacket open with a scarf, elbow length gloves and a beanie. I've got a different biker in a smaller size for spring/autumn over one layer.

PNGirl · 09/01/2018 10:36

Kind of like this:

Here

NewYearNiki · 09/01/2018 10:40

Yes that's true. It depends how you want to wear it @Asitgoes

That photo looks awesome with the jacket overized and layered underneath.

trixymalixy · 09/01/2018 10:44

Asitgoes, I would keep it. If it does stretch too much then you will probably make your money back selling it on ebay.

If however you wanted to sell it now then I would happily buy it from you.....

I had one in my basket and I'm still kicking myself i didn't buy it!

chloechloe · 09/01/2018 12:15

I've been umming and aaaing every day over mine. I'm a 10 with a large chest and got the 12. I'm a bit worried about it getting bigger but I think PNGirl's post has convinced me to keep it - the link you posted is such a great look! I already have one lighter leather jacket which is much smaller but I think I'll keep it for wearing over summer dresses. This one is heavier and better for winter I think.

This one is also fairly snug over my hips when zipped and I hate it when leather jackets are too small there and bunch up at the waist. A 10 would probably be too small when closed.

If I'm feeling brave I might post some photos and submit to the MN fashionistas' advice!

Asitgoes · 09/01/2018 13:03

Now I just don't know what to doConfused
Am erring towards keeping having seen the layering potential (and it is just so lovely)
Trixy if I do decide not to keep it I'll get in touch

NewYearNiki · 09/01/2018 13:22

I'm going to try some one today.

zippyswife · 09/01/2018 13:28

Do you think there’d be any bales knocking about in store? Was thinking of popping into one of the branches tomorrow on the off chance.

Also do you think this means that it’ll be discontinued now?

Theonlyoneiknow · 09/01/2018 13:32

If you tweet them they can check stores for you

zippyswife · 09/01/2018 13:33

I wouldn’t know where to begin to tweet!! I might call aheadWink

BusterTheBulldog · 09/01/2018 13:38

They didn’t have any in bham bullring or Selfridges concession there on sat, butvdefo worth a call

seven201 · 09/01/2018 19:22

I am gutted. My 12 is as predicted too small. I'm going to keep it in the unrealistic hope of dropping a dress size one day. I can just do it up but look like an overstuffed sausage. I'm still keeping my eyes out for a 14.
