Doc martens

I will confess up front, I am completely the wrong side of 50 to even contemplate a pair of docs but I want them so bad. Went in to town today and tried some on so know my size. Gave up choosing though because it was just too busy and crowded and shopping hell.

The question I have though from those of you in the know is do I want 1460’s or pascals? I know the 1460 is chunkier and needs more breaking in but they seem so much more authentic somehow, and the pascal like a girly cop out.

Please help....or I might have to get two pairs and I can’t justify it!

So 2 days ago I had never even tried on a pair of DMs. Yesterday I treated myself to the blue castels I posted and today I may have bought the khaki pascals (using ebay 20% discount code). I think I may have a problem 🤣

Just been on M&M direct. Oh, my! Feeling the urge... Anyway, DH looks over my shoulder (usually to discourage me from buying footwear) whenhe sees these and shouts "Want!" In a role reversal I have to point out that he already has black DM boots, and he says "But not like those".

Slightly concerned that they are listed as "womens" but DH is insisting a size 9 is a size 9. Anyone know if there is a difference?

The sizing is unisex so a size 9 should be a men’s size 9 / women’s size 9 / the same. My dh wears men’s and women’s styles depending on what he fancies!

I have navy and oxblood 14 hole boots and black knee high (20;hole?) boots that I love and save for best as I can't bear to watch them get wrecked like all my others!

Also got thepewter shoe with pointy toe beautiful but a bugger to break in!

Agree with other posters that they do now seem tight across top of foot.

This thread has nudged me to buy the pair of black 1460s which have been in my Amazon basket for months.

FancyKnickers I had to really have a word with myself about those! I have plain black plus black patent and black velvet and some burgundy snake skin effect. I don’t really need another pair of black but they are so pretty and they have 9s. I usually hate having big feet and struggle to find things. I am so tempted and have just been paid. A dangerous combination. However my other two pairs have just been despatched. Can I really justify three new pairs?

Yes! They’re all different so will go with different things. You won’t need to buy another pair for years (not necessarily true). It’s supporting the economy so good for the whole country.

They are so comfy! I've only got a few sensible pairs now. Patent 1460s, black Mary Janes and cherry Floras.

Mrs D, I did that and have ordered another pair . My current favourites are the Joyce white shoes with the red hearts on. My every day go-to pairs are Amalita boots. I'm still gutted that I missed out on the Stussy creepers last year.

I'm 59 and have half a dozen pairs of doc martens. Wear them loads, particularly in winter.

So my boots arrived today from M&M. The Pascals are very narrow on my fat feet, but the pink softy’s are really loose! I might send the Pascals back, I usually stretch boots that are narrow with thick socks but I don’t know if I love them enough to do that. Love the pink ones though!

My purple 1460s have arrived and they are so beautiful!! remarkably comfy actually, did a little shopping trip and having a wander about in them now. Love them!

I bought a pair of black croc Pascals a few days ago. I love them but unsure of how to wear. Can I wear with skinny jeans tucked in or is this a no? Do I lace them all the way up?! Help!

I don't lace mine all way up lace up to second to top hole. I wear mine with jeans. I don't think there's a right or wrong way to wear them they are versatile you can wear them how you like.
