A fab beautifully fitted black and white print dress - just GORGEOUS

a crocheted and sequined cardi - lovely teal colour

couple of t-shirts

cool kind of pale khaki and brown print foofy skirt with sash at the side - sort of vintage looking

AND - a present for NQC which I am QUITE excited about

Did you clean the floor before you took the pic or is it always that pristine?

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2007 21:04

LOL inlaws were visiting today, remember?

Here is skirt:

reminded me of that White Stuff one people were linking to on my other skirt thread

is nicer in RL I think - nicer colours and has few sequins on it

v nice too. colours question.... do both the black and white and those browns both suit you?? (interested, not being snide)

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2007 21:10

Ooh

probably not

I just buy things I like the look of - don't normally buy those pale neutral colours but I thought the skirt was quite groovy, and will wear with chocolate brown top (there is a chocolate brown colour on the skirt that doesn't show up too well)

I just needed to pick up a couple of bits to wear in the warm weather as have widened during gym lapse

You bought a skirt Franny?!

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2007 21:12

LOL I know

why did no-one just tell me to go to Matalan? You fools

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2007 21:15

LOOK Aitch LOOK

MrsWho · 21/04/2007 21:21

I've been looking at that dress, maybe I should actually try it on before it sells out

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2007 21:24

My god have you actually gone to Matalan and seen the same thing there more than once?

OP posts:
Gobbledigook · 21/04/2007 21:26

Ooh, they are both lovely Franny! Great shopping!! And avoiding the outlaws just an added bonus!

Spidermama · 21/04/2007 21:28

Fab skirt.
I never had you down as a laminate sort of a chick F&Z. I thought parquet or quarry tiles. Rush matting perhaps.

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2007 21:28

Yes it was an inspired move on my part

I also dithered over and did not buy this top

what do you think? It had that slightly shapeless is she isn't she pregnant thing going on

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2007 21:29

Spider the laminate was here when we bought the house

but I do love it

OP posts:
Gobbledigook · 21/04/2007 21:35

Hmm, not sure about the top. I think you made good choices!

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2007 21:39

I thought maybe with black capri pants it would look good

but then saw frumpy 50 year old holding it in queue and went off it a bit

OP posts:
MrsWho · 21/04/2007 21:43

Only 'cos I have been twice in a week

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2007 21:45

even so that was quite an achievement

I thought every night at midnight they chucked everything into big skips, leaving only one size 8 and a dozen size 22s on the rails

OP posts:
Tatties · 21/04/2007 21:48

I like the dress. It's not unlike the skirt I offered to lend you. Yes you could have done with that dress a couple of weeks ago couldn't you...

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2007 21:49

Yes but would have been too cold to wear then I think

I would have had you all running round looking for a cardi to go with it

OP posts:
MrsWho · 21/04/2007 21:49

LOL and the 'pair' of shoes one is a 4 and one is a 7!

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2007 21:51

The shoe section looked like a rummage sale

I didn't even go in

I wish NQC would come back and see what I bought her, but I guess she's on the razz at her black tie do at last?

OP posts:
Tatties · 21/04/2007 21:53

I've never had time to try on clothes in Matalan, only bought kitchen items in there I think

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2007 21:53

You have to go by yourself

but as they are open till late every night, I think they realise this

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 21/04/2007 21:55

Oooh, a knitting bag with Jolly Rogers on it! Lovely! Fear all gone!

NotQuiteCockney · 21/04/2007 21:56

I think I once went to Matalan ... is it all brand name things with original prices on them? Or is that TK Maxx or whatever it is?
