You can come and see me if you do, fio.

MrsBadger · 20/04/2007 15:41

I know, but I like to think that they'd just popped into Primark for a 3pack of pants in the middle of a turf war...

Dinosaur · 20/04/2007 15:44

You should stick to M&S next door, Mrs B; it might be pricier but the only danger in there is being mowed down by oldsters making a beeline for the Chicken Kievs.

ScummyMummy · 20/04/2007 15:47

God, that M&S is grim! It's like the one on Walworth Road. M&S in less posh high streets don't even pretend to appeal to under the 90s do they?

ScummyMummy · 20/04/2007 15:47

Sorry can't type today.

to appeal to the under 90s

Dinosaur · 20/04/2007 15:49

I did actually buy some jeans in there that I rather like, but I have no shame any more.

MrsBadger · 20/04/2007 15:51

that M&S was my secret vice - after a day at work with an abominable hangover I'd buy M&S cakes (viennese whirls top choice, or the lemon yum yums, or the slabs of madiera cake), scoff the lot on the no.38 and ditch the wrappers before I got home...

krabbiepatty · 20/04/2007 15:51

You should meet up with me and hoxtonchick in the Primark, Dinosaur. Followed by lunch in, err, maccyDs...

Dinosaur · 20/04/2007 15:52

Heheh

I have been known to nip into Percy Ingle for a hangover cure pasty.

ScummyMummy · 20/04/2007 15:52

Oh no! Sorry dino! I eat my words. Grovellingly.

Dinosaur · 20/04/2007 15:52

We could drink a bottle of Diamond White in the graveyard after...

Dinosaur · 20/04/2007 15:52

Come along to our meet-up, Scummy!

MrsBadger · 20/04/2007 15:53

oh yes, Percy Ingle sausage roll on the way to work, M&S cake on the way home.
[wonders how her body ever coped]

krabbiepatty · 20/04/2007 15:53

It's going to be great. The lowest rent meetup ever, hurrah!

ScummyMummy · 20/04/2007 15:54

Sounds great. I love the idea of a Primark-MCDs mumsnet meet up! So very unlikely.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 20/04/2007 16:18

My local Primark used to be Littlewoods.

All the old biddies haven't yet got the message that its no longer Littlewoods and you get stuck behind hordes of grannies tottering along on zimmer frames.

Had to laugh at my DSes on holiday - shorts, t-shirts, socks, underwear -all from Primark, topped off with sweatshirts from Mini Boden!!!

The sweatshirts were bought by my mum for Easter presents - afraid apart from shoes I really don't spend much on their clothes.

hoxtonchick · 20/04/2007 19:05

mrsb & scummy, do you have secret hackney lives ? mess cafe on amhurst rd is actually quite nice & they never objected to me getting my norks out repeatedly

conveniently, i work at oxford circus so have the marble arch one in my sights next week

divamumplusbump · 20/04/2007 20:47

ScummyMummy · 20/04/2007 22:03

I am proudly wearing one of my Primark tops. I've been complimented lots!

But I remember when people didn't know about Primark. Then the celebs got in on the act. I just hope it doesn't jump up in price like New Look (one of DD1's fave shops currently)
